About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

This course could be GREAT.
I loved the layout of this course more than any other I’ve ever played and I’ve played a lot of courses over the years. The holes are extremely fun. But I will say if you don’t hit the fairway you will not find your ball. The ruff/ rough idk how it’s spelled is very thick. And poorly landscaped. There’s thick patches and stumps and so many areas for the golf ball to get under. But this course does have some awesome opportunity. Can’t wait till they are fully finished re vamping this course.
