About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Winter Golf
One of my favorite places to go. Enjoy the layout of the course and conditions have Greatly improved.

Not a fan of changing the 9's as it doesn't allow good flow and limiting swings to get you ready to play.
Friendly place with nice green

A course on the rise
The fairways are good as are most of the greens.
They are continuing to remove much of the hard surfaced cart paths with a crushed limestone mix which makes it much smoother now and will be easier to maintain.
The management continues to improve this course.
Tee boxes were in bad shape and not level. Pin placement on one hole was ridiculous. I wanna say it was hole 16. The cup was placed on an uneven part of the top of the putting green. So if you missed the put by an inch, the ball would roll down 10 feet. Might as well put a windmill in front of it. The fairways were unkept and had a ton of ditches and areas with no grass. If you’re charging $45 for a round, it should be in better shape. I shouldn’t be off balanced when teeing off
Decent course
It's a nice course for the price. The staff isn't that friendly and I feel like you should be told if they're going to pair you with someone.
Great Layout, Needs Some Love
It’s the classic - “it’s a great layout, but it needs some TLC”. The started shack is in the driving range shack. The woman was very friendly. The carts are gas, no GPS. They’re fine, no sputtering or backfires. The course is a tale of two nines. The front is pretty straight forward. The back has a lot of doglegs. It feels like it plays longer because of them. The greens were a bit choppy, but I could play around it. The fairways were hit or miss. Nothing atrocious, but you knew you weren’t playing the Ritz. The bunkers were fine. You could see some were removed for pace of play. Only a few holes had water come into play. The greens were also hit or miss. The fronts were better than the back. Some disease, though in my case it didn’t come into play that much. All in all you get what you pay for. I think l paid about $30, and l got a $30 course. No complaints. I would recommend it.
Still improving
I play this course one or two times a month and have watched as IC has continued to improve the course…and t they have plans to continue the improvements.
Wednesday the course was in good playing condition. The tee boxes need improvement but a rebuild is planned.
Pace of play was much better than our last lap around the course.
The course is really starting to come along with a lot of hard work from the staff. One thing,as you are getting more and more play you should start thinking about using a mashal as the foursome in front of us was taking way too long, looking for balls, not knowing how to keep play moving as I'm guessing the average stroke per hole was somewhere around 12.
Wish it was closer to me
I enjoy playing here, the course keeps improving. Look forward for the next visit. Ironclad has suck a good vibe.
