About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Pretty nice but slow
Not the courses fault but folks were hitting their 8th, 9th or tenth shot while we watched from the tee box. Kinda hard to play like that but again that’s on the players. Wouldn’t mind seeing a ranger talk to people about the pace though.
Fun and challenging course
Ironclad is a great course no matter the level you play at. It has challenging water hazards, wide and narrow fairways and many dog legs. The best part; No matter how frustrating your round may have been, you will enjoy great Mexican style food at Shaka Taco and delicious brews at the Ironclad Beer Garden!
The pace of play is kind of a mix. I found some folks play very slow and others very fast. Either way, everyone is friendly about it and will let you play through if needed.
Progress
Course has come along ways in a year, have done a lot of work to improve course, greens still need work. Good bang for the buck. Staff very accommodating.
Cart path only
It was cart parh only this day. The 4some in front disregarded this. It was wet in places. I understand it's changed hands and it's improving. Cart paths are rough. The range is nice. Layout is really nice. Good value would have played better had it not been cart path only.. wWould like to play it again.

Difficult course which has been improved greatly in the last two years under the new management. I enjoy playing this course very much.

Really friendly folks. Enjoyed playing the course. They are spending a lot of money updating things and it shows. Great price. Great layout and nice carts.

Great course. Very well maintained. Greens rolled really nice. The price was awesome. The tacos are off the chain good and the beer was cold. Highly recommend giving it a shot.
Much improved
First time golfing here since all the renovations to the course and it is much improved. The greens are in good shape and the course is well maintained. Probably the best deal in the area for a quick round of golf
Pace was somewhat slow but saturday mornings it's to be expected.
Night & Day from last year!
Management have done great job in improving the course from last year. Have put in a lot of hard work.
Still working on the course.
Iron Clad is still undergoing major improvements on the course. Because of the work being done, the back nine was closed.
Most fairways and greens were much improved (greens 3& 4 were still temporary as they keep working to get the real greens playable.
The staff, restaurant and beer garden are tops.
