The Ridges Club House Photo submitted by justpar on 06/11/2013
Awesome!
The Ridges have kept the course in awesome shape. Rough is cut short making the round go faster when finding wayward shots quicker.
Beautiful mountain course
Course is great. Only they had Aireated the greens and they were still sandy. Beautiful course and fun to play. Nice club house, food and beverage cart. Enjoy!
Back 9 not puttable
The Ridges is a very nice course I have played several times utilizing GolfNow. On this day, the cart guy told us when we arrived that the greens had been 'punched' recently. The front 9 several days ago and the back 9 two days ago. We thanked him for the info. Not unusual this time of year around here. Went inside to check in and get range balls, nothing was mentioned about green conditions at that time. We played the front, greens were punched and a little sand still on them. Beautiful day, all was well. When we made the turn, the day changed. Greens on the back were unplayable basically. Some places had an inch of sand on them. On two different greens it looked like a child had tried to build a sand castle it was stacked so high. We continued to play, moving the ball on the green to the closest, somewhat puttable location.
When we finished I went inside and asked why they just didn't let people loop back around to the front b/c of the conditions of the greens. A gentleman, I think the GM but not certain, told me everyone had to punch greens. I told him I understood, but there was an inch of sand in some places on almost every green on the back. He informed me I hadn't paid FULL price and that he had one of the best superintendents around. I told him I wasn't questioning his superintendents ability and that I had purchased the Tee times on GolfNow several times over the Summer. His insinuation was I 'got' what I paid for. As far as a recommendation, I would call the course before buying a tee time on GolfNow. I won't say I will never play it again, but it will be a long time.
Beautiful Setting
Great site, unfortunately greens had been aerrated and sanded the day before we played. Sand traps were hard packed and needed grooming due to heavy rains a couple of days earlier. Course is usually outstanding and will be again in a couple of weeks. Will play again and often.
A little rain
The Ridges is a nice place. Beautiful Clubhouse and food was good. People were very helpful.
Great golf day.
Scheduled tee time at the last minute. Was able to get the time we wanted. The course was in great condition. Will definitely play The Ridges again.
Must play
Have played 6 courses in this area and this facility is in the best condition and by far the best value it this area.
You will not be disappointed
Nice course in the foothills
Course conditions have improved in last year. Fairways and greens are in good condition, however the greens are Bermuda with lots of grain.
Biggest downside on course condition is lots of crabgrass surrounding many of the greens.
Staff was very friendly, made for an enjoyable round.
Best mountain course for the price
Awesome facility and friendly staff. Must play mountain course, well maintained and great value.
Old Golfer
Course was in great shape! Local knowledge is very important to play the course well, but their carts have GPS and it is extremely helpful!
Great Views
The course is littered with wonderful mountain views and fantastic homes. The fairways are nice, but a little thick for my liking. The greens roll fast and true.
Nice Course
First, I would like to thank the staff for such an appreciative and warming welcome! The fairways and greens are great, but the pace of play was painfully slow. Our group was just a threesome, but 5 hours is a little much for a Thursday morning. Overall, the course is fantastic, and I will definitely play here again.
Best Ball
We enjoy playing this course from Senior Tees and play 'best-ball' format. Many challenging holes and opportunities for birdies! Scenery on most holes of mountain views. This is a great outing for any golf enthusiast.
Great Course
The Course was in great shape and could not have asked for a better day of weather to play. The carts with the GPS were very useful and the electronic score card was very nice. Only complaint is slow play. Had to wait on the 3-some in front on every hole except hole 1. The round took about 4.5 hours which would have only been about 3hrs had we not waited on every hole.
Give em a chance
Course was great. Staff was friendly. GPS in carts and other amenities. Great place to play.
Fantastic experience
5 stars before we stepped on #1 tee box due to the friendly staff and view from the clubhouse. The amenities, playing surface and conditions, environment, and service will not be found any where else in the southeast for the value. This was an experience, not just a round of golf. GPS in the cart really helped for first time to play this venue. A variety of layouts, challenging yet fair. Do not miss an opportunity to play at the Ridges. I will be certain to play here again when I visit western NC.
Great Place
This is a great course in excellent condition. It is a fun course LOVE IT!!!!
Beautiful and well maintained
This course is a jewel and it is extremely well managed and very golfer friendly. All the staff are very courteous, friendly and helpful. Food is excellent.
The course is in a beautiful setting with mountains and streams all around.
My friends and I love this course.
Wonderful Golf Outing
This course is the "Gem" of Hayseville/Hiawassee. The course is in fantastic shape! Every hole has picturesque view of the mountains. The staff is always extremely polite and helpful. Celeste is the best cart girl on the planet! Definitely will be back soon to play.
Great NC mountain course
We decided to do a mountain golf retreat this year instead of the beach, and we are glad we did! We played the Ridges July 24, and liked it so much, we are playing it again July 26. Thank you Golfnow for having this course on your site!
