Holiday Weekend Play
Course was in very good condition for late November thanks to the weather. Pin placements were very challenging on the "turtle-back" greens. Holiday weekend with lots of players caused slow play. Ranger had slow players move up a hole to speed up play. Good to see this. Bunkers were need some work due to prior heavy rains.
One of the best
Absolutely one of the best mountain courses in the area. The course is in great shape, the fairways have entered their dormancy and the greens are in excellent condition. The staff is always friendly and the facilities are top rate. Don't understand why this place isn't overbooked every day. This has become one of my go to courses year round.
Very good condition
This course was in very good condition. The greens were in excellent shape. This area has had a lot of rain this year but the course looked great. Hazards were in just the right spot to make it a challenge. You couldn't ask for better staff. Very courteous and helpful. You can play this course for $25.00 through the winter. Any time any day. I will definitely play here again. GPS in every cart.
Great course
This is a great course and a great value. It has all the perks of much more expensive courses with a more personal feel. I recommend this course to any level of golfer.
Can't Beat the Price for a Course this Good!
Finally got to take my father-in-law to this course today and got the hot special for $10 each. The greens we played on at the Ridges were the best we have played on. The staff at the pro shop have always treated me and my family first class. Always look forward to playing here and it is worth the 35 minute drive for the price I paid! Will keep on coming back!
Great Day
Played with grandson, course was in fantastic shape. Greens were fast and pin locations were tough. Set up for member tourney next day. People helpful & friendly. Pace of play was excellent and weather was gorgeous. Will definitely play again when in the area!
Golf Dawg
Beautiful surroundings. Great course conditions. New carts with GPS. What more could you want? Right...a great GOLFNOW price.
Affected by the weather
Played this course a total of four times between Sept and October. It was evident that the weather had disrupted the maintenance of the course. Too much rain to get the greens mowed and cleared on the early end and too much rain due to hurricane, etc on the back end.
Overall the course is challenging and in good condition. Blind holes, up and down holes reflecting the local terrain abound. Bring balls with you just in case. No houses on course and it usually moves very well.
Hayesville is a great place for a vacation and the golf course selection is wonderful.
For those interested in food, pre-made sandwiches, no hot food on days I played.
Awesome!
The Ridges have kept the course in awesome shape. Rough is cut short making the round go faster when finding wayward shots quicker.
Beautiful mountain course
Course is great. Only they had Aireated the greens and they were still sandy. Beautiful course and fun to play. Nice club house, food and beverage cart. Enjoy!
Back 9 not puttable
The Ridges is a very nice course I have played several times utilizing GolfNow. On this day, the cart guy told us when we arrived that the greens had been 'punched' recently. The front 9 several days ago and the back 9 two days ago. We thanked him for the info. Not unusual this time of year around here. Went inside to check in and get range balls, nothing was mentioned about green conditions at that time. We played the front, greens were punched and a little sand still on them. Beautiful day, all was well. When we made the turn, the day changed. Greens on the back were unplayable basically. Some places had an inch of sand on them. On two different greens it looked like a child had tried to build a sand castle it was stacked so high. We continued to play, moving the ball on the green to the closest, somewhat puttable location.
When we finished I went inside and asked why they just didn't let people loop back around to the front b/c of the conditions of the greens. A gentleman, I think the GM but not certain, told me everyone had to punch greens. I told him I understood, but there was an inch of sand in some places on almost every green on the back. He informed me I hadn't paid FULL price and that he had one of the best superintendents around. I told him I wasn't questioning his superintendents ability and that I had purchased the Tee times on GolfNow several times over the Summer. His insinuation was I 'got' what I paid for. As far as a recommendation, I would call the course before buying a tee time on GolfNow. I won't say I will never play it again, but it will be a long time.
Beautiful Setting
Great site, unfortunately greens had been aerrated and sanded the day before we played. Sand traps were hard packed and needed grooming due to heavy rains a couple of days earlier. Course is usually outstanding and will be again in a couple of weeks. Will play again and often.
A little rain
The Ridges is a nice place. Beautiful Clubhouse and food was good. People were very helpful.
Great golf day.
Scheduled tee time at the last minute. Was able to get the time we wanted. The course was in great condition. Will definitely play The Ridges again.
Must play
Have played 6 courses in this area and this facility is in the best condition and by far the best value it this area.
You will not be disappointed
Nice course in the foothills
Course conditions have improved in last year. Fairways and greens are in good condition, however the greens are Bermuda with lots of grain.
Biggest downside on course condition is lots of crabgrass surrounding many of the greens.
Staff was very friendly, made for an enjoyable round.
Best mountain course for the price
Awesome facility and friendly staff. Must play mountain course, well maintained and great value.
Old Golfer
Course was in great shape! Local knowledge is very important to play the course well, but their carts have GPS and it is extremely helpful!
Great Views
The course is littered with wonderful mountain views and fantastic homes. The fairways are nice, but a little thick for my liking. The greens roll fast and true.
Nice Course
First, I would like to thank the staff for such an appreciative and warming welcome! The fairways and greens are great, but the pace of play was painfully slow. Our group was just a threesome, but 5 hours is a little much for a Thursday morning. Overall, the course is fantastic, and I will definitely play here again.
