Scenic and a bit challenging

I loved the layout and scenery! Some of the greens were in poor shape, but most were very good. Great, friendly staff! Unfortunately snack bar/ restaurant had been closed for quite a while. Food and drink were limited to cans, bottles, and packaged snacks.

PS: Don't follow Google directions from Franklin. Turn directly off Rt 69. Only about a half mile. Weaving through the neighborhoods was scenic, but not the easiest route.

Nice layout

Had a great day except for the heat, but that's summertime for you. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly. Pace if play way excellent. The only downside was a few of the greens were in rough shape and all were kind of baked out. They were also slow for the thinnest of the grass. Fairways were in good shape.

Could be better

Aside from greens 1 & 18, the greens were in good shape. The layout of the course makes for a really fun golf course, not long, mostly forgiving, with a few challenging holes. The maintenance crew was working hard throughout the course, and were very polite and showed etiquette throughout our round. They just do not appear to have the equipment or the crew to maintain the golf course to the level it could/should be.

Slow play at Chatuge

It took an hour and 50 minutes to play six holes. We went to the club house and asked about getting a marshal to check on the pace and were assured it was being taken care of since we were the third group to complain. Pace did not pick up and after 12 holes we were at the 4 hour mark and gave up.

Had a great time!

I wanted to beat the heat so I booked a 7:37am tee time. I arrived at 7am, hit some range balls and off I went.

It was wet--but of course it was at 7:37am. The tee boxes were not bricks--I didn't break one tee. Greens were nice and consistent.

I was from out of town and wanted to play somewhere new. Everyone was nice and I thought it was an enjoyable course!

Municipal golf course

Staff was great. Course had nice greens, other areas were average or worse. Layout was pretty fun. Greens were soft and receptive but difficult to read and get the speed right. I saw a 6, a 5 of.course no marshal. I do have to say the groups I came up on as a single let me right through. Overall I had fun, no frills for $40.

Love this course.

Love playing here. However, there needs to be water available to drink out on the course. Most other courses offer this.

Chatuge Shores, not terrible

It had a basic pro shop in an older building, decent driving range, older carts. The greens were in better condition than I expected. The fairways had a good bit of dirt patches, then clover & crabgrass mixed in the fairway & rough. You can use a driver on many holes & it’s a forgiving course as far as loosing many balls. I paid $35 on a hot deal. I would not pay over $40 to play this course. Lastly, on a nice sunny Monday it was not real busy which was nice.

Nice course

Love this course, but had a foursome of young men that were extremely slow. They refused to let our twosome play through. Finally these 2 old men just decided to skip a hole and go on around them. There was a train of other groups behind us. When we were finishing 17, we saw them still only on 12 teeing off, with all those other groups still behind them. So glad we went around. They either don’t know golf courtesy, or just don’t care.

Greens were ok

Course always seems like it just needs a little work. Fairways could used to be mowed
