Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club is peacefully tucked away with the Great Smokies sheltering it to the west. It offers some of the most stunning views of any golf course in western North Carolina. Although it feels remote, Asheville is less than half an hour away. The mountainous surroundings provide a dramatically hilly terrain that is ideal for a challenging round of golf. Players will face plenty of uneven lies on this layout. The elevation changes also provide some interesting risk-reward opportunities throughout the golf course. Mature trees frame most of the holes and the small, sloped greens are often framed with bunkers. The Cummings Cove layout seems unusually short at only 6,415 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The undulating terrain makes it feel much longer.

This course was very scenic

The person checking us in gave me a little problem with booking 2 players a week ago and then later booking one more person (a doctor who happened to be off) who wanted to join us the day before we were to play. The person checking us in acted like it was going to be a problem playing together. I asked him how many players had signed up to play the slot set up for the single? He replied just the one, so I said we all could play together at that tee time. He said that would not happen if it was a busy morning. He finally allowed us to play together.

This course is gorgeous has great views and 3 5-pars on the back 9. The greens were a little sandy, so take a towel to wipe the ball between putts. The weather was 80% rain, but we had no rain, and the sun came out on the back 9. We enjoyed playing this course.

Great course

The course is in fantastic shape. It is very challenging and incredibly fun. The temperature was in the high 50’s and very few people were there. It is easy to lose your golf ball in the rough, the course is narrow

Golfnow should warn customers

Greens had recently been aerified, almost unplayable. GPS on cart not functioning. Gnats horrible.

Very nice golf course in excellent condition, recommend you take gnat repellent as they are fierce at some times.

On site grill was not open as being remodeled but should be open soon.

Great Course!

Great course. Friendly staff and starter. Pace of play was slow, took more than 4:20 to play. Conditions were ideal — even with all the rain it was great and greens rolled very true. Only complaint is they are transitioning who runs the food/bar and that wells closed. Bummer to not be able to grab a drink during such a slow round.
