Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club is peacefully tucked away with the Great Smokies sheltering it to the west. It offers some of the most stunning views of any golf course in western North Carolina. Although it feels remote, Asheville is less than half an hour away. The mountainous surroundings provide a dramatically hilly terrain that is ideal for a challenging round of golf. Players will face plenty of uneven lies on this layout. The elevation changes also provide some interesting risk-reward opportunities throughout the golf course. Mature trees frame most of the holes and the small, sloped greens are often framed with bunkers. The Cummings Cove layout seems unusually short at only 6,415 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The undulating terrain makes it feel much longer.

Great value

Course was in great shape! They do a great job with tee it forward! All par 5s have an even further forward tee. Great for my wife since she is a beginner. Course was fun and ever 4 holes or so is a self serve water and ice machine with bathrooms. Lots of convenience and a great touchscreen GPS In cart!

Good mountain course

Played the blue tees. The course didn't play long. It was in good condition considering the amount of rain recently. The GPS in the carts helped a lot. Not easy to determine pin placements.

Very good conditions, given the summer rains

Cummings Cove was in better shape than most local courses. It's a tough course with more blind shots than I like, but would probably be more enjoyable on the third or fourth playing. It was a little buggy the day I played, but the regular I was with said was unusual. It's a long drive for me, but I'll be back.

wonderful layout with lots elevation change, great mtn views, tee options allow you to make it as much of a challenge as you'd like

Recent heavy rains made it cart path only and so several fairways needing mowing
That aside greens were in excellent shape
Interesting layout with five par 5's and 6 par 3's give you lots of scoring opportunities
Friendliest staff in the area
Didnt patronize the grill this visit, but have many other times, great fresh "grilled" burgers and a few local craft beers on tap.

One of the Best in the Area!

Cummings Cove is simply put...a great track, and not far behind Grove Park and Sequoyah for best playable course around Asheville. About 15 minutes south of the Asheville airport, C. Cove provides an excellent blend of nature and luxury. Top notch carts with top notch GPS systems; friendly staff and a secluded setting all aid in the facility's ability to stay a step ahead of a competitive, mid tier WNC golf scene ($40-$100). Most holes feel tight from the tee but actually yield golfers generous playing areas, each one sculpted around rolling hills and tree lined fairways. Great greens, very few rough spots (common around WNC), and some dramatic par 3's await, not to mention an apparent lack of play and country club feel. Cummings Cove might not be a 5 star course if compared to the country's great public tracks under $100. And maybe "pristine" would be a tad generous, but I was surprised at how epic and fun my round felt. Course Conditions and proshop treatment can be hit or miss around Asheville and Cummings Cove excels in both. Highly recommend this course; only negative....visible housing

TARGET GOLF

This course has super friendly employees, refrigerated water with cups, ice and lids available at clubhouse and on the course and GPS on all of the carts. It was in good shape considering all of the recent rain with views to last a lifetime. The greens were large and in great shape with the fairways suffering the most from all the rain. The layout is target golf at its best making it extremely hard your first time out even with GPS. If you like target golf and moderately tight fairways then this is your place. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Challenging but fair

Beautiful mountain course. Familiarity will help in future rounds and there has been too much rain of late so the course was a little soggy, but overall a very positive experience. We did have to wait on every shot, which I did not expect for a Monday mid- day round. You may want to check be certain they are not overbooked.

Nice layout

This golf course is always in great shape and has a very nice layout imo. It is short measuring only just over 6400 yards from the back tees, but don't let that fool you. A lot of tight fairways and some short doglegs can get you in trouble off the tee box if your not careful. Overall a very well maintained and playable course.

An excellent, classy course

Have played this course many times. Course management is vital to score well. Not long but very tight. Amenities abound, with ice and water dispensers throiughout the course, and GPS on all carts. This is a mountain course and the views are gorgeous.

Wish we could have finished the round! Rained out on 13th. Still enjoyable for the holes we played.

The course is in great shape. Even with all the rain we have had the fairways were in good shape. We were cart path only but we really didn't mind.
