Great value for the money
I wish I lived closer because this course would be on my regular playing list. Tough back 9 with many blind approach shots. In great condition and the staff was extremely friendly.
Slow play
Slow group in front of us. Waited 10-15 minutes on each hole to tee off. Left after the 13th hole. Club members are rude and feel they can play as slow as they want. Will not go back.
It's called Kings Mountain for a reason
Very challenging for me. Very hilly as well, which I honestly should have figured because it has mountain in the name. Other than that, the course is in great condition, other than a few bunkers. Greens are fast.
Friendly staff - course in great shape
Course in excellent condition. Greens all rolled the same. Few tee locations need repair. Pace of play issue during this visit. Extremely friendly staff
Overall a nice place to play
Front 9 is great. Back 9 is a whole different story. Blind tee shots on some holes and just an overall bad layout crammed into a small area. Greens were perfect on all holes.
Course LayO ut
This was a very interesting course, as it was like playing two different golf course. Front nine, very open, gofler friendly, a lot of elevated greens. Back nine much more challenging, which we enjoyed. Must play target golf to score well. Tee boxes were rough, but rest of course was in good condition. Will go back!
Excellent greens.
I wasn’t expecting the best conditions for this course given the time of year. I was pleased with how well the greens looked and were playing. Some parts of the course (tee boxes and away from the fairway) are in poor condition but overall great value for the money.
Course is a joke
I like a challenging course where good shots are rewarded and bad shots get punished. This course just punishes. It’s extremely sloped and in such poor condition, that’s it’s hard and balls run out forever. Barely any grass, even in the fairways. Great shots are unjustly punished. The layout is gimmicky. Almost all tee shots are blind. There are a lot(too many) of short dog legs that you have to hit iron or hybrid off tee. This may be my least favorite course I’ve ever played and I’ve played hundred.
Only missing a marshall
-renovation of teebox will be great for future
-lots of rollout on fairways so dont hit approach too long
-soft greens fairly slow but ran true
-round took 4.5+ hours which is too long for a thursday late morning start
-no marshall to speed up play, only recommendation
-friendly staff
Get what you pay for
As others have said, greens rolled nicely. For winter golf, the course was maintained fine but was very repetitive. No practice facilities, and the clubhouse didn’t add much value. I got a chili dog after they had run out of Pimento cheese sandwiches, and it was a hot dog with ground beef on top.
Suppose I’m being a bit harsh, but ultimately you get what you pay for here.
