Greens need time to recover
Love the course, love the layout, they just punched the greens.
Mostly sand on em, and some furrows. Other than the greens tho the course was in great shape…sadly, greens are preeeetty important. Give it a couple weeks is my advice.
Excellent Course
A very nice well maintained and managed course and facility.
Could be better
The course overall is in good shape, the greens although, are not. Most of the greens are in poor shape, with bald spots on most. #10 green is in decent shape though.
Deer Brook plays VERY NICELY
First time playing but it won’t be the last! Staff was very attentive, available and helpful to a first timer. In short, from check-in, rang, the course and local playing partners…exceptional! Tee boxes, fairways and green side all were very well kept. Greens are Bent grass. Which is a very nice putting surface. However, they can be a challenge to maintain…especially if divots aren’t repaired. With that, the greens were about an 8 out of 10 during play…but understandable. It didn’t affect the quality of golf. And priced accordingly. Kudos Deer Brook! I’ll be back time after time when in Charlotte!
Great course, about to lose greens
Everything about this course was great as always, except the greens are burned up, divots everywhere, and every green just felt soggy and soft
Recently disappointed
I have been coming to Deerbrook periodically for the past decade. I will not be back any time soon. The greens were in such bad shape, the course should be ashamed to be open. In the past this has been one of the nicest courses in the area, and it was a big disappointment to pay $60 for the privilege to putt on mud.
Deer Brook on Sunday
I’ll start with the Pro shop. Not friendly at all. They were more concerned watching the PGA event on TV than servicing their customers. As far as the course…Tee boxes and fairways are in great shape. The greens are well below average…ball marks not fixed, burnt greens and/or diseased greens. Did not see a Marshall the entire round and the pace of play is horrible. Group of 2 in front of us were playing 2 balls from tee to green…and they were horrible golfers. DO NOT play here on a weekend unless you want a 6hr round of golf. Not worth the hassle or frustration.
1st day after rain
Been a week of rain leading into my first time at the coarse. The reviews from a week before said greens were cratered and that is true. Lay out is good and overall conditions good. Would love to see the green recover in a couple weeks with the right care. I will plan to play here again in a couple months
Great course a few issues
Greens were fairly beat up and some cups damaged. the layout was great but pace of play was a little slow
Would still play again
Meh
So I got there an hour early to hit the range putt and chip, apparently there were no golf balls at the range, so on to putting, at the 9th hole I caught up and joined the group ahead of me, from that point on it was slow going, the staff seemed a bit indifferent about the range balls but otherwise i enjoyed the course
Greens Not as Nice as Normal - Still a good time
I always enjoy this course for the layout and difficulty. It's very well maintained, however the greens on the last round were in worse shape than normal. I'd definitely say this is a rarity though for this course and I'd still recommend it.
Nice Course
I enjoy the course, greens are difficult. I always seem to find the pace of play slow.
