Good for the money!
Was in the area doing some work, so I planned out a golf trip. Play by myself, ended up teaming up with a single behind me. Pace of play was a little slow, but everyone was having fun so no worries. Nice people, and the beers were relatively inexpensive.
Course was a little tight, but the layout was adequate. Slow greens.
Twin Oaks Review
The stuff in pro shop were extremely friendly and courteous. I loved the course overall. Greens were on the slow side but there were no ball marks really present on any green. Couple of bad spots on some greens but did not detract at all from enjoying the round. Was fairly busy for a windy weekday morning but pace of play was excellent. Loved the holes that had a tree just a little short of the green. Well placed sand traps. Course is not lined by houses so was just a great tree lined course that can be enjoyed. I will definitely go back again.
Worst course in NC
This is by far the worst course I have ever played at. The fairways are completely over grown with weeds. The greens nothing but sand. The pro shop was hardly a shack. The course lays the holes right on top of the next tee box so you always have to watch out for other players. Not a fun course, do not go here. 0/10
Worst course in North Carolina
This course I played a couple of times and it was iffy tried it on a Sunday because it was the only thing that had a tee time now I see why the greens were Sandy bumpy unplayable and of course was just unfit to be open
Breaking 80 at Twin Oaks
We had a nice early AM round on Saturday at Twin Oaks. It’s only 35 miles up 77 from the Charlotte area. This is a decent course that is not very challenging for experienced golfers but some holes require course knowledge. I understand the greens are much better, but they are slower than most and roll bumpy on some of the greens. They just needed a good greensroller on several holes, but they are playable. The tips only play 6400 yards and I look forward to breaking 80 on my next round at Twin Oaks.
LSG
We just love this little course. Lots of little challenges while very playable. Greens on front nine were quite rough, but we will be back. Personnel is always quite friendly and inviting.
thx
New bunkers?
18 new bunkers added… all with the pin in the middle of them. Sanding the greens is a necessary evil in course management, however not the way Twin Oaks has done it.Putting was simply not possible due to the volume of sand just dumped on the greens. Course also didn’t mention upon check-in and actually charged more than listed on GolfNow…. said it was something to do with a system issue. Never expect Twin Jokes to be a nice place based on greens fees (usually a good place to get a solid driver/wedge round in) but this round was unplayable.
Get what you pay for but worth the money.
It's a semi-rough course that is not very well spaced out between fairways. The teeboxes looked like they had just been cut and the fairways were much the same. The greens really could use some work. This time they were freshly sanded to cover the holes in the grass on them at least. But again, no more than $35 at peak times, it's very worth that at least.
The staff is very friendly which I appreciate because I'm not very much of a people person and they're very easy to talk to.
Course is okay for the money
You get what you pay for. Greens were very bumpy but overall not bad for the price
Great bang for the buck!
The staff is super friendly. We finished our round in 4 hours and 10 minutes on Memorial Day Weekend!
Twin Oaks
Not a very good course. Fairways and greens in poor shape.
