Fun short course!
This is a pretty fun short course. Not in the best shape but definitely good for the price. Cant beat a $25 hot deal. Very tight course with some tee boxes next to the previous greens. Greens rolled surprisingly quick, a few were a bit bumpy but not too bad. Played pretty slow, a few large groups (over 4 people) playing. Will play again!
Small tight course
Note: Golfnow had every available option open for 4, well Monday is seniors day. And they were all out playing. Instead of letting me start on 9(cutting the grass covered by mud...yes, you read that right) I ended playing 3 balls so I didn't hate myself. Poor course needs grass, glad I had 2 towels with me. It was great practice for my woods, using irons was very messy.
Solid course for beginners and affordable rounds
I've been to twin oaks multiple times and have always had a good experience. It's nothing special and there are definitely courses with better conditions, but it is priced reasonably and a good place to refine your on-course skills. It's very open and offers a variety of challenges.
Just a really cold day to play.
Slight delay in tee time for frost to burn off. Otherwise good day of golf. Just 39degress
Do not expect much
Good deal for the price, however, tee box to green not in too good of shape. Greens were very high and slow.
No one wearing a mask entering clubhouse
during mask mandate in pandemic. Big Trump flag flying from clubhouse. Not for me.
Pleasantly Surprised
This course is a bargain for the money. The greens were in great shape. The fairways leave something to be desired, The pace of play was fine once we got started. We got to the tee box at our teetime (10:00) and there were 3 foursomes teeing off so we just started on the back nine. other than that the round was fine for the price. will definitely be back
As expected...
Okay, let’s understand what this place is before we get all judgey. It ain’t Augusta Grand National. Heck, it isn’t even pretending to be fancy in any way. Yep, you need a sledgehammer to putt these greens. They are shockingly slow. And overall it could definitely use some TLC. But it is cheap. And the layout is actually kinda fun. Tons of reachable par 4s. Driver, wedge, putt. Pace was fast but it was a Wednesday in November. Staff was friendly to me. Beers were cheap. It had a local vibe I enjoyed. It’s the kind of place you can bring your buddy who is terrible and he will enjoy it too as it seems quite hacker friendly. Many times I’ve spent twice as much money and had much less fun than this place.
No Covid Awareness
Decent course and a good value for the price. Received glares from walking into clubhouse with a mask....which is required in NC...not sure why staff was hostile at us for that. No awareness of covid or the mask requirements, but course is not bad for a laidback round of golf.
Not Bad, but you might get Covid
Not bad for the price if you’re looking to play an easy round. Biggest issues was that staff followed no covid prevention rules (masks) and was rude when we walked in with a mask on (like we are supposed to do). Course is in pretty good shape and we had no issues with the value of the round.
Good course for the $$$
Due to all of the rain, this course was very well kept. I have played and more expensive courses not as nice as this one. Very clean!
Good course for the price
I liked playing here. Yes, there are better courses, but for what you’re paying, this is a great place to play. Personally, I’m just looking for a place to have fun while not dropping $50+ dollars a round. Were some of the greens a little sketchy? Yes. Were other ones in great shape? Yes again. If you want to go somewhere and just have a relaxed round without the Country Club attitude, this is for you.
Goat Track
From tee to green there is very little difference between the weeds that are passed off as playable turf except a minor change in mower height. The greens go from slow to slower without any consistency. Unfortunate the the course was in such bad shape as it does have a challenging layout and shot making is necessary despite the short length. The lack of Covid-19 protocols was disturbing- no masks in clubhouse, rakes in bunkers, water jugs in use, and nothing for the holes. Even saw plenty of players removing the flags as the would have pre-pandemic.
17 hole course
Booked a tee time. Wasn’t informed at all that hole 12 was closed until we got there. Still had to pay full price. No ranger out starter. It took us almost 5 hours to play our round as we waited at every tee box. Grass looked like it hasn’t been mowed in days on the fairways or the greens. Greens were very slow. Couldn’t tell the difference between rough and fairways on multiple holes.
Pleasantly surprised
I was worried by some of the low reviews but Twin Oaks was better than anticipated. Some fairways could use some work. The greens were on the slow side but looked great. It was a crowded Saturday and we waited on every tee but still managed a 3:50 round. For the price we will definitely be back.
