Money drives the pace of play down
Course in great shape for the time also mix in an Indian winter here in the carolinas as it was 70 degrees yesterday. My hang up is they had a ranger riding everywhere on the course just not sure if he was doing anything. We had a foursome that took around 4 and half hours to finish and it was bc the foursome in front of us was holding us up. I know courses don't want to here this but 6 tee times an hour isn't a bad thing if anything it would give me more of a reason to drive forty mins to play this course. So we're not finishing at dusk.
Decent track
This course used to be top notch, but it definitely has been knocked down a notch or two over the years. Love the layout, but the price they charge of $55 is not worth it. If you get a deal of $25-$30 then it'd be a fair price. The greens were pretty good considering it is December, but the fairways need some work.
November Golf
Course was really in good shape for November and especially with all of the recent rain. My only complaint is that the sand traps never seem to be raked. Also being it was a breezy November day, not much you can do but there was a lot of debris on the green which made putting nearly impossible. Overall I'm impressed with the shape of the course and always have enjoyed playing here.
A Saturday 18
Great experience and pace of play was excellent! The course was in great condition and enjoyed my round!
Pricey for the conditions
Really like the layout of the course. I played Keith Hills the day before for $ 36.00 and it was a far better course than Greensboro National. Greens to me were poor at best. I also saw a coupon in the Golf paper for Carolina Trace @ $35.00 and that is also a much better course. So............... for $ 55.00 I thought it was not a good value at all.. Play was very slow with no courtesy to faster paced players or twosomes.
Restaurant is very nice but there may have been a language barrier when I ordered a Coors light and was given a Corona and my cousin ordered a chicken burrito and was given a chicken wrap. Price was right in the restaurant and the guys were friendly
Great times
Nice course to have a great time and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, the staff are great and when the greens heal completely this will be an amazing place to play.
Perfect day Lou
Course in good shape. They had sanded the greens but otherwise it was in really great shape. Nice people and GPS carts...Will be back again
Challenging well kept course with great lake scenery
Great course all the way around, well maintained golf course with challenges, great views, great restaurant bar/ and great atmosphere
17 Really Good Holes & 1 Really Bad Hole
1st the Good,
Fun golf course, not overly challenging but still need to play decent in order to score. Elevation changes, water and very conditions made for fun day on the links. Gentlemen in the golf shop was extremely friendly and accommodating. GPS on the golf carts was the best I've ever seen.
Now the Not So Good,
Maintenance crew was doing some work around the edges of the greens and didn't stop when I reached a couple of the greens. Had to putt out with them only 10-15 feet from my ball and still working, kind of irritating.
Also, the 15th hole is just not well designed. Downhill par 5 with blind tee shot but straight. Hit a great drive down the left center of the fairway, thought I was golden to go for it in two. Unfortunately there is a huge tree overhanging the right side of the hole about 150 yards from the hole and water left of the green. I only had 215 yards to the hole but had to lay up left with a wedge because it was nearly impossible to go around or over the tree. Would recommend trimming that tree and Greensboro National would have 18 excellent holes instead of the 17 it has now.
Still highly recommend the course though and will go back!!!!
Great course
Loved the course, definitely the best $45 round I've ever played. Everything was in great shape except for the fairway on 17 but it was still playable. Very interesting holes, a lot of dog legs
Beautiful Parcel of Land
Greens and tee boxes are in great shape. Some of the fairways are in recovery from a tough winter, but they are playable. Nice elevations changes!
Okay play, but not nice
This course no good
Warming in green fee is $29.00 they charge.
With online "golfnow"
$38.00
I paiyed $38.00 payed plus online fee
Not nice
Course is looking great!
I have enjoyed this course in the past, however it looks greener than I remember. The pace of play was right at 4 hrs for our foursome, no one pushing and no one slowing us down. A little pricey, but fun.
Loved it!
Very beautiful course, great greens and a nice challenge overall. A couple really interesting and fun holes, especially No. 7 and No. 15. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that hole 17 isn't in great shape on the fairway and there isn't a marshal out there to help regulate place of play (we were stuck behind a group that would not let us pass). Each cart has gps that shows yardage to the hole
Golf now app
The course was good, but not pleased to find out that Golf now app was more expensive than the course rate. I'm not very happy about that and I will let people I know that use it to be careful. I thought golf now was there to help get tee times for a cheaper price that was not the case. Golf now app two thumbs down, not pleased.
Good experience
This was my second time playing here and I brought my friend for his first time here. This golf course was in good shape it did have some winter kill in a few fairways but that's everywhere. The greens were great and soft. Would recommend this course to anyone and will be looking to go back soon.
Course in Good Shape despite very hard winter
Tee to greens were good, with some fairways burnt from winter..Course should paint these off as free lift, but don't. We were teamed with some retired newbie locals and behind a slow moving foursome that had us waiting every shot...5 1/2 hour round for me and my friend who normally get up and hit the ball can play 2.5 - 3 hour rounds...
Our paired retirees were not playing ready golf and some holes we just putted out while they were moving from ball to ball. Not bad people (in fact they were fun to play with) but were playing tournament rules and not ready golf rules amateurs are supposed to play... Very happy with the carts which have video showing distance to the holes..this would normally have sped play, but didn't make any difference on this particular outing.
We never visited the bunkers, but they looked to have good sand.
Enjoyed playing with my son on Greensboro National
My 22 year old son and I had a wonderful four hours on Greensboro National beautiful course. The fairways are in much better condition than a lot of Greensboro and High Point courses. Robert and I are going to return pretty quick.
Great Course
I had a blast! It was hot as the bejesus, but we knuckled up and powered through. The course is fantastic, and the rate was very fair. I blew up the first two holes but then I dialed it in. Ariel in the clubhouse was fantastic, very nice and very cute. Corey took care of us in the pro shop, a very pleasant and friendly individual. I will definitely be back, hopefully sooner versus later. Thanks to the entire staff, and I highly recommend this course!!!
I really like this course.
Course is in great shape compared to others in the area. The winter kill has hurt most courses.
