Course in Good Shape despite very hard winter
Tee to greens were good, with some fairways burnt from winter..Course should paint these off as free lift, but don't. We were teamed with some retired newbie locals and behind a slow moving foursome that had us waiting every shot...5 1/2 hour round for me and my friend who normally get up and hit the ball can play 2.5 - 3 hour rounds...
Our paired retirees were not playing ready golf and some holes we just putted out while they were moving from ball to ball. Not bad people (in fact they were fun to play with) but were playing tournament rules and not ready golf rules amateurs are supposed to play... Very happy with the carts which have video showing distance to the holes..this would normally have sped play, but didn't make any difference on this particular outing.
We never visited the bunkers, but they looked to have good sand.
Enjoyed playing with my son on Greensboro National
My 22 year old son and I had a wonderful four hours on Greensboro National beautiful course. The fairways are in much better condition than a lot of Greensboro and High Point courses. Robert and I are going to return pretty quick.
Great Course
I had a blast! It was hot as the bejesus, but we knuckled up and powered through. The course is fantastic, and the rate was very fair. I blew up the first two holes but then I dialed it in. Ariel in the clubhouse was fantastic, very nice and very cute. Corey took care of us in the pro shop, a very pleasant and friendly individual. I will definitely be back, hopefully sooner versus later. Thanks to the entire staff, and I highly recommend this course!!!
I really like this course.
Course is in great shape compared to others in the area. The winter kill has hurt most courses.
GREAT COURSE
The course was in very good shape compared to many in the area after the cold winter. Very fair from the tees longer hitters paradise. Greens in good shape a bit on the slower side but very receptive. Well worth the drive to play.
A little too Pricey
Is a beautiful course no doubt but the discount isn't that great even here on golf now..
Slow Greens
The greens were very slow. I guess they are getting ready for the summer heat. Fairways still need some time to come back, but they are at 60%.
Golf Course Layout was exceptional
From the first appearance driving up to the club house to the final hole this course was a dream to play. Yes, the fairways are not quite in yet, but, the course tested your overall ability. The staff and workers throughout the day were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. I cannot wait to go back when the fairways are in fine shape. I understand that many courses this past winter took a beating. Greensboro National has been well cared for. If you want to test your golf course management, play here.
REAL NICE GOLF COURSE AND CHALLENGING
HAD A GREAT TIME WITH MY BUDDY SID. WE DROVE FROM DURHAM N.C AND IT WAS AWESOME. PRO SHOP AND BAR/FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. COURSE WAS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE EXCEPT SOME BROWN SPOTS ON FAIRWAYS WHICH NEEDED MORE TIME. ALOT OF COURSES THIS TIME OF YEAR HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. GREAT DAY ON A VERY NICE COURSES. NICE DRIVING RANGE. FREE COFFEE WHEN WE ARRIVED. THANKS
Nice track
We caught a day right after rain, so it was cart path only. Course was not fully grown in after the winter. There were bad spots in the fairways and on the greens. The layout was very nice, used most of our clubs during the round. We enjoyed the play.
Very Nice Layout in Upscale Subdivision
We liked the course layout, Some construction on facility was ongoing- bathrooms. Setting is in high end community but in the woods. Lots of wildlife. Greens had been recently aerated and sanded so putting was a challenge. Burmuda fairways haven't greened up yet so basically we caught the course a couple weeks early. Ratings would be higher otherwise. Course is moderate in difficulty, open, very fair with water, sand and some blind holes. Would definitely return. Need more restrooms on the course.
Great course
Great course tough but great long distances great holes
golf in Feb
Winter conditions, but greens great shape. Fun day
Just a good course
I like everything but the first hole. You have to hit over water.
Great course for the money!!!
We played on a very cold day which was cartpath only, but the course was in pristine conditions for the time of year.
Great value; very fair test.
Great course; bring your A game. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to my next round there.
great day
Awesome course conditions, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. This is hidden gem that not many people know about. This is a must play course.
One of my favorite courses in Greensboro Area
Greens are in great condition and play fast. Course's Blue Tees make the course an excellent challenge for low handicaps (I play the whites). Course rewards well placed drives and penalizes those that are not. Fairways are in good shape and if you go into the woods - leaves will be an issue this time of year. Pace of play for a foursome of under 18 handicaps on the weekend is about 4 to 4.5 hrs.
Greensboro National a real jewel
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. Large greens and fairways. Unfortunately it was very cool and humid and the greens were wet and dewy. Putting was made difficult by all of the dew on the greens. Very good practice area and extremely welcoming staff. I can't wait to play here again when the course and greens are much less wet. I will be back.
Greens need improvement
I love the lay out of Greensboro National. It's fun to play and very fair. However, the greens continue to be hairy, slow, and difficult to putt. If the greens on this course could ever be brought up to a championship level then in my opinion this would be the best course in the Greensboro area.
