Great course and valye
Greensboro National is a beautiful setting with very well-kept fairways and greens. Great staff and outstanding food in the clubhouse.
Slow play allowed
The threesome I was behind was terrible. I would have three shots to finish a hole only to find they had just teed off on the next. There was no one in front of them to slow them down. No Marshall to check pace. Had to stop at nine holes because it would have been a 5 hour and some change pace and I had to go to work.
Great layout
Great day at GN. Course offers. Nice variety of holes in a beautiful area. Club house food was great and staff was first class.
Favorite course!!!
Great golf course. Layout is fun to play and offers a wide variety of hole designs. Also, great food! I always enjoy a sandwich and beverage prior to the round.
Great staff!
Course in good shape, but greens were extremely slow and beat up.
Solid
First time playing all 18 holes. Great pace of play for a busy Sat afternoon. Enjoyed the layout. Nice use of the water in what is the center of the property. Would play again.
Slow play (again)
Love playing this course. Usually in very good shape (it was) user friendly with wide fairways and large greens. Greens get a bit beat up each summer with the heat and players not fixing ball marks,so I wonder when they will change to hybrid grass? Big complaint was slow play. Why courses won’t at least make a minimal effort to speed things up is beyond me. GN has a starter. When we made the turn there were 2 groups waiting to tee off on #10. Anyone in the clubhouse could see there was a problem. Just send the starter (or someone) out to give the guilty group or groups a push. No reason for 2:45hr minutes on back nine. This is the biggest complaint golfers make , so when will someone listen?
Thank you for the review and spending your July 4th holiday with us. We were very happy our pace of play average was 4 hours 16 minutes on a busy 184 round holiday. In looking at the round stats, it appears we had an issue this day with groups stopping at the turn for longer than allotted for food and beverage. We have processes in place to speed this up and the staff is trained to return people to the course promptly. Even with these safeguards, we still have individuals who delay others with their actions. Pace of play issues seem to occur more frequently on holidays when we have more players that are not used to the way we do things to improve pace of play, like ordering from the GPS system before making the turn. We apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured we continually work to improve this issue. Come play again soon and you will see how much progress we have made.
Excellent people
From the cart to the car the service was amazing.
Someone helped with my bag. Put it on a cart. Proshop staff was great we had a conversation. Gave me a first rescuers discount. Starter was hilarious. Making jokes and paired me up with another person for the front nine. Second nine. The club pro Jeremy and the assistant pro Jacob caught up to me and we played the last few holes together.
I WILL BE BACK.
Fantastic
I love the course, its well maintained, staff are helpful and kind
Fantastic

Signed up to play 12 but after 10 4 groups waiting at #10, so could not continue due to time constraints
Thank you for your review. We spoke already following your first 9 holes that you played in 1 hour and 28 minutes after your 2 pm start time as a single. You did catch up with 2 foursomes on #10. We hope to see you again soon!
Good course for mid/low handicapper
This is a good course for mid/low handicapper. Some challenges, not too many uneven lies. Bunkers were wet so difficult to rate those. greens acceptable.
Greensboro National
This course is very hit or miss. Fairways are decent, greens were excellent but slow. Bunkers are simply put hot trash. If they aren’t holding water, they are hard as a rock. 80/90$ is inflated, this is a 55/60$ course at most. Cart girls were good, pace of play was awful. Front nine we had one group on the green, one in middle, and us on the tee box. If you are still hitting 5 from the fairway and you can see it’s backed up it’s time to pick up.
Gorgeous facility, carts, and property. Pacing and cost need work.
Overall awesome course. Turf was beautiful and really nice building and equipment. I wish it was a bit cheaper for a round but not terrible. Hole 1 was empty so the range master allowed me to tee off my 12:40 time 2 mins early at 12:38. Next crew was at 12:50 and they teed off 2 mins after me. Basically hit golf balls into the back of my head the whole day. Made my whole experience terrible. I couldn’t focus at all. I was waiting for 5 mins in the fairway for a group of 4 walkers to putt while the guys at the tee box hit balls out at me in the fairway. Next time will be better hopefully.
Thank you for your review. We monitor pace of play mainly through our GPS system that shows our slowest round on 7/10 was 4 hours and 12 minutes. We send rangers out after messages on the GPS are not being followed. If the threesome you were behind was on pace with our 4 hour and 17 minute pace for that day we would not send a ranger. We had 167 rounds on this particular day. We take a great deal of pride in setting a reasonable pace on a daily basis based on golf course conditions, cart path only holes and all factors that come in to play. Again, thank you for writing the review and we hope to see you back soon!
