Great View from First Tee
Bring your sense of humor with this course and plenty of golf balls. I wanted to like this course more, and that may be more with the previous reviews creating an unfair expectation. Having played Olde Beau (mountain course nearby) I was expecting Olde Beau lite. I got more the step brother of Olde Beau.
Course is beyond too tight on most of the fairways except 6 through 8. Several back tee boxes have been abandoned and many of the current tees are in need of TLC. All that being said for the price and conditions it is a good course and worth a play if in the area.
Fun course, very tight
Course was not in as good of condition as the last I played here, but it was still a fun track to play and with tight holes making for some serious thought to get your drives in play
Nice course
Nice course, good views and cart paths kept up. Only thing is the golf carts, they are very rough.
Music on course
You should ban external speakers on the course. Very annoying trying to concentrate with death metal blasting from the next fairway.
Great place if you can get past the Bugs
I'm not sure if it was the time of year or something else but the Gnats were beyond annoying, I actually only played 2 holes because I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Also, not a negative just an observation, the course is very narrow and if you're an average weekend golfer, you will lose balls
Now, the views are amazing and the course beautiful. I will try it again in the winter and update my review.
Greens
The fairways are being mowed much better than previous seasons . However, after my third round there this season the greens appear to be declining rapidly . I hope they get in front of it soon . Too nice of a course to see it decline .
Beautiful setting in the NC yadkin valley wine region
Course was in great shape. It helps to have a friend that knows the layout or ride up a short distance to see what the fairway does if you can't see the green from the tee box. Scenic mountain layout with some great views. Friendly staff. Will play this one again soon!
More maintenance
If you could mow the rough a little lower. Course is hard enough without losing your ball in the first cut of rough.
