Worst Experience
They cancelled our Tee Time and never informed us!!!!!!!! We will never use this service or visit that course again!!!
This course is in great shape. I normally use this course for a first round of the season due to how open it is but was pleasantly surprised to the condition. Fairways and greens are in fantastic conditions. Could not ask for better for the price.
good value
If you like a courses with well manicured greens, and rolling fairways with nice cart paths then this course is not for you. But if you like cheap, good fun at a open forgiving course where you can drink a beer and and play a fast round of golf with your friends then you came to the right place.
Brookwood
Great staff & course is in average condition for this time of year. It is a great value for a Sunday afternoon round. Booking process was very easy. Called & spoke to a man named Chip, who was very friendly & gracious to assist!
Nice greens.
We arrived early and was allowed to tee off early. Men in clubhouse very friendly and helpful as it was our first time playing this course. The fairways on some holes run together which was kind of confusing but golfers playing on a different hole were helpful. The greens looked in good shape.Since it was during Christmas probably more crowded than usual and pace was at a crawl. We finally called it quits before finishing the back nine. May go back and play again but not during holidays or weekends.
Great course for the price
Great course for the price! Greens are in good shape except for a couple.
Pretty nice
Pretty nice course . The cart paths leave a lot to be desired . They are in need of repair. The course itself is a good place for a higher HDCP golfer. We had s good time playing there .
AWESOME COURSE
i HAD A GREAT TIME WITH MY DAD . IT WAS HIS FIRST TIME PLAYING THE COURSE. i REALLY LIKE THE 18TH HOLE, I HIT ALL THE WAY TO THE GREEN
Nice Course great for a beginner !
Please play here enjoy and learn the game .
Classic, Local, American Golf
While playing Brookwood the other day, I remarked to my buddy, "I love Brookwood. This seems like the kind of golf course 90 percent of Americans play. The fairways are a mixed of grass and weeds--yet mowed. The cart paths are mostly dirt--where there are cart paths. Both great and bad lies abound."
My friend said, "When you think about it, this kind of course may be like the courses Bobby Jones grew up on."
I love Brookwood for what it is--local, unpretentious golf. I have played the Pinehurst courses, lots of resort courses, and many gems that are hard to find. The links at Gettysburg in PA and Belgrade Lakes in Maine are a couple of my favorites. Brookwood in no way resembles the high end courses. It is what it is--local golf.
Brookwood Course review
Ok course for the money spent. No real cart paths but directions to holes was acceptable. Greens were the best feature of this course.
Nice greens and staff
We played this course on a day when there was some mixup with GolfNow and tee times got majorly double booked. When we arrived, 25 minutes before our tee time, there were no carts. The parking lot was full and we had to wait an hour and half for a cart to become free. Then, because so many people had shown up, pace of play was very slow. We stopped after 12 holes due to pace of play. I doubt it's always like that.
Overall the greens were nice, surprisingly nice for the condition of the rest of the course. Rolled true and quick. Didn't seem like a lot of players were fixing ball marks, which was a shame.
No bunkers on the course and little water. 6500 from the back tees and 6000 from the white.
Management was super nice. But the course is a "country" course. Fairways are essentially just mowed grass and not bermuda or anything from what I could see. Winterkill probably affected them as well last winter. Tee boxes weren't the greatest but were playable.
Biggest challenge was navigating the course. Signage is very poor, so we found ourselves on the wrong hole or fairway at times. Unless you pay close attention to the small map on the score card, it's hard to go from hole to hole.
For the money, I think you could probably find better course conditions elsewhere.
Good place to play
Greens in good shape. Fairways need some improvement.
Pleasant Surprise
Labor Day Monday, the kids wanted to play golf. I chose Brookwood for a couple of reasons. I figured it would be less crowded and forgiving for the kids. The value of play is excellent. The greens were in the best shape of any course that I have played in the last 3 months. The tee boxes and fairways were average but overall a great experience. The fairways are wide and forgiving and there are no sand traps. The greens are truely the best around. It was very enjoyable and will definitely be back. It was my first time there and a great place to have a good time with the family!
Great people, great greens
Great people, great greens, but I am sorry to say not great golf... There are no cart paths, or order to holes, and though i had my best score ever through 12 holes, i found myself exhausted from the confusion of it all, and not able to continue... If i recommended this course to someone it would be for the staff whom obviously takes great pride in their greens and customers (B+++). But as for the overall the course was not the 4 stars it's given, half that.
First time I played it. Enjoyed it
Interesting course. They were proud of their greens. They were right. Great greens!
I noticed there were no sand traps.
Good coures. A little rough in some areas, I would definitely play it again.
it has 18 holes
wow there is no bunkers at all. there is no cart path you can drive where you want to go.most of greens same shape and no slope but rolls well which is nice. for beginners very nice to play
