The Lake is Great!
I love the direction that the course is heading. The renovations, the culture, and the work their doing to the course is exciting. I hope they get the restaurant situated. I love seeing the kids learning at First Tee, the women's classes, the seniors congregating, and all the new faces coming to check out our hidden jewel.
Course Revisions are Looking Great
This course will be great when they are done with the new design and landscape updates! Great value, super nice staff. Play is a little slow because it’s only the front 9, but they should be finished by July 2025. Still, a challenging and beautiful course.
Great staff
The course is under construction on the back 9 at the moment. What they did to the front 9 with the tree clearing is nice. The staff is top notch. Can't wait for the back 9 to open. It is going to take some time for the debris to get packed down after the construction is completed but I believe it made the course better overall.
Great place to play
Greens in great condition. I wish the back 9 was open
About Half
Can only give half a review as nine holes were closed without warning for tree work. Back nine hilly and narrow. Greens in great shape, carts nice and the people friendly. Will come back when all the holes are open.
The beat muni course I’ve ever played
When I first discovered this course about 9 months ago, several of the greens had large bald areas. In a matter of maybe 2-3 months the grounds crew had all of them completely healed. WOW, so impressive! Because I typically play as a single, my only complaint is that it pace of play can back up. However having said that, most often I am invited to play through and/or invited to join the group in front of me. Because of the course length it is great for scoring however every hole has its challenges and it’s never boring. The staff is friendly and helpful. This course has become my absolute favorite course to play. For the price, you can’t beat it! I invite everyone to give it a go!!
Winston lake
Winston lake...one of the nicest muni courses I've played. Fairways were nice...and the greens were smooth. Greens were slow...like incredibly slow but they did roll good. The rough is where they need to focus some time on. Whenever you lose balls rolling off the fairway into the rough is uncalled for. Literally took my dad and I more time to find our golf balls than to play the hole itself and it was the first cut. We each lost 3 balls each in the rough and came back out with around 30. 25 of the 30 we found were in the rough right off the fairway. Took 3 and half hrs for 2 people to play and we had the course to ourselves pretty much....and that was mainly trying to find our balls. You do have quite a few blind shots also so if you're not perfectly in middle...kiss your ball goodbye. The woman at the counter also washes the golf carts....holy smokes....I'd come there every day just to see her.
Highly Recommend
Great little public course. Well worth the money. Challenging and scoreable.
Hidden Gem!!
I typically play as a single and go out at any given moment. I discovered this hidden gem of a course about 6 months ago and it quickly became my favorite and go to course. Sometimes the pace is a little slow because so many people love to play there as well but when that is the case I’ll either play thru or join the group ahead of me. The folks who work there and the folks who play there are truly the best. I highly recommend Winston Lakes!
