Cooks Creek Golf Club
About
Cooks Creek Golf Club (previously known as Raintree South Golf Club) is bordered by Little Walnut Creek on one side and the Scioto River on the other, providing a scenic setting that is ideal for a round of golf. The course is a certified Audubon Sanctuary and there is also a Blue Herron rookery on site. Opened in 1993, the golf course is relatively young but it has already established a reputation for being one of central Ohio's best public courses. Local architects Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry designed the course with the assistance of John Cook. Cooks Creek has two completely unique nines that offer two different sets of challenges. The diverse layout requires careful strategy and it will also test your shot-making abilities. With two bodies of water serving as neighbors, water definitely plays a role on the golf course.

Tee Boxes (This is one of the tee boxes with actual green on it, rather than just pure dirt) Photo submitted by ScEGDxKM8Z1A9tQ5q63k on 10/13/2019

This was a fairway, patches of dirt like this were extremely common throughout. Photo submitted by ScEGDxKM8Z1A9tQ5q63k on 10/13/2019

Must Play
Cooks Creek (now Raintree South), is a must play in central Ohio. Fantastic hole design, great elevation change, challenging and long. Requires thought, careful club selection but is not a shoot to a target course.
As good as it always is
Great course for the price. Wide open fairways into tough green. Challenging but fun.
Only draw back was no cart person on the course. It was hot out. For a Sunday afternoon there should have been someone out there.
Always a great time at Raintree South!!!
The only issue with the pace of play was the group in front of us. Only issue we have ever had with the course and one of my favorites in the Columbus area. Versatile course and good for many different levels of golfer.
Great course
Great course if you can stay in fairway. If you miss hit to rough the game will get rough
course was great/no h2o sucks
The course was in great shape. The best I have seen it in a long time. You need to put some water out their for the golfers. no cart ,no water kind of sucks.we had our own .
Great course
Front 9 is tough if you don't stay in fairways and greens are very fast the only downs was poison ivy in the edges and could prevent you from any wayward shots.back 9 gets a little easier only to get harder on 17 & 18. great over all
Great course, good shape, and great greens
This a great course for golfers who prefer a challenging golf course, w/ excellent greens, and wide fairways. Can play the course as short or long as you desire 5000 -7000+yds
Great fairways and greens
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Sand traps need a little work but otherwise, course looked great.
goog test of golf
Humid day. Course was in great shape except for the sand traps. Many had little sand in them and others were wet.
Course design
Great course design, love all the water hazards that come into play.
Great course
Great layout for a challenge, good deal on golf now
Amazing!
This course is fantastic! We really enjoyed it and GolfNow made it a great value. There are some challenging holes and plenty of tee box options for different skill levels. The course was in great shape too.
Good Course for the Money - Not what it used to be
I have played this course dozens of times. The condition of the course when it first opened, to now, is drastic. It is not well kept or at least not near the pristine condition it once was. I do not think it will ever return to its glory days... sorry folks.
Is it a fun course and challenging? Yes! You will not be disappointed.
Windy with a chance of Wind.
30 to 40 mph constant wind all day. This becomes a problem at any course but is exacerbated at Raintree South. Almost all of the holes on the front 9 have water on them sometimes on both sides of the fairway. On the back 9, water is not really a problem until the last 4 holes and even then its more of a decoration. Should I have played from the tips in this wind? Probably not but I always play from the tips.
Always a challange. Teaches control.
course in great shape, especially for this time of year. Just like summer if you can stand a little cold! Greens couldn't be better.
love the elevated tees
Enjoyed spending my time there....each hole is different...had to use every club in the bag
Great course. Great value through Golf Now.
This was the first time I used Golf Now to schedule a tee time. Everything turned out perfect. I would definitely recommend scheduling tee times on this site.
You gotta play here!
It is an excellent course, well maintained, the fairways are in perfect condition, would strongly recommend this course to anyone who wants to play on a really good course!
Now Raintree South GC
I guess the owners sold it to new owners and changed the name, the name change does't worry me. What worries me is the ponding of water at noon on Saturday in the fairways (i.e overwatering the fairways) and the rock hard rough areas around the greens. Some of the bunkers were way to wet and compacted the sand. Some bunkers were showing signs of needing to be re-sanded.
I'm worried the "new" owners could destroy this course.
FYI the front nine greens have been aerated so they are a little rough.
Course in good condition. Cart paths and rough in very bad condition.
Fairways and first cut rough in good condition. The rest of rough and areas around the course in very bad condition.
