Cooks Creek Golf Club
About
Cooks Creek Golf Club (previously known as Raintree South Golf Club) is bordered by Little Walnut Creek on one side and the Scioto River on the other, providing a scenic setting that is ideal for a round of golf. The course is a certified Audubon Sanctuary and there is also a Blue Herron rookery on site. Opened in 1993, the golf course is relatively young but it has already established a reputation for being one of central Ohio's best public courses. Local architects Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry designed the course with the assistance of John Cook. Cooks Creek has two completely unique nines that offer two different sets of challenges. The diverse layout requires careful strategy and it will also test your shot-making abilities. With two bodies of water serving as neighbors, water definitely plays a role on the golf course.

Tee Boxes (This is one of the tee boxes with actual green on it, rather than just pure dirt) Photo submitted by ScEGDxKM8Z1A9tQ5q63k on 10/13/2019

This was a fairway, patches of dirt like this were extremely common throughout. Photo submitted by ScEGDxKM8Z1A9tQ5q63k on 10/13/2019

Have seen it in better condition
It's still early in the season, so I hope it will improve but the conditions require some attention. Also, the maintenance folks seemed to not care that we were actually playing. They were spraying and sanding all around us the while round.
Always like this course, very challenging from the black tees, reds also when windy can be very tough
we enjoyed the day although cold and blustery and the highwaters on the front nine made it challenging to keep the ball in play,my favorites are the 6,7,8,9,holes on the front and all the back.will go back a couple of times this season.
Overall a good experience
The one drawback was the greens and fairways were too hard and shots wouldn't hold, especially for this early in the year.
This course has pretty forgiving fairways.
Course was in good shape. Greens were aerated which, although expected this time of year, made putting difficult. Fairways were well maintained.
A well maintained and very playable course.
Course location away from the city bustle makes for a very quiet round of golf. Course is well maintained. The layout of Cooks Creek G.C. is challenging, yet very playable for all levels of golfers. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our round at Cooks Creek Golf Course.
Considering seasonal issues course in good shape. Always a great course to play.
AS always great staff and good value with GolfNow rate for fees.
Beautiful Course worth making the trip
The course is well maintained and has a beautiful landscape. Many traps and water hazards make you think twice about every shot. Fairways are very forgiving allowing golfers of any skill lever to enjoy the course. Very Friendly staff and a fully stocked bar. I will be going out of my way to get out here more often.
My group enjoyed it very much.
I have always wanted to play this course. The staff was great. The fairways were just awsome! The greens showed signs of lots of play but that should be expected this time of year (late fall). Looking forward to playing here again next year.
Good course, poor course management
Course was in good shape greens were aerated sand traps were almost dirt and course was way over booked
Good layout, maintenance lacking
Layout was good and challenging yet playable for all levels. Good yardage advantage for front tees. Course maintenance was lacking, possibly due to summer drought. Course amenities (ball washers, club washers, water, etc.) were also lacking.
Excellent, challenging course.
An excellent course for all skill levels. *One should use the appropriate tees... Wide (I say W-I-D-E) fairways, large greens, well maintained tees, fairways, rough and greens. Most of the greens are fairly flat and relatively fast and smooth considering it is a public course that gets a lot of play. It's also a very interesting layout. I love this course.
Expensive course for its condition
Played here 2 years ago and the course was great, but now not so much. Fairways not in great shape, but the greens are really chewed up. Many ball marks make the greens look like the surface of the Moon.
This course is very expensive for its poor condition.
Big fairways, fun day
This course is definently one of the top around however the drive from the city would be worth a little more if the course plate as it was designed. Multiple holes that should have had a scenic pond where bone dry which took away from the course appeal. The design is great however dry basins take away from the overall beauty and challenge of the course.
