Quite a few improvements
Course has gotten significantly better over the past few years. Clean and nice greens.
Shaping up
Course is starting to wake up from winter and is showing signs of being a must play course as it was last year. Excellent condition through the year
Great course, pricey food
Course was awesome. Played Baldwin 9 and the course was well maintained and didn't seem rushed but the course was busy. Food was a bit pricey, $4 for a hot dog and handful of chips.
Teach your starters
This course is so much nicer now that the metroparks completed the renovation. There's still some thin spots in the rough, but this course was a burnt out mess for decades before that, so it's much better. Lots of new tee boxes, removed dumb bunkers, and cleared out a lot of unmowed areas.
The only complaint was with the groupings. This course has 36 holes, yet the starters sent 5 groups in a row down the same 9. When I was playing the 8th hole of the first nine, I could see a group on #1 of the second nine. When I got the #1 tee, that same group was still on #1. And they sent 4 more groups behind them. We played the front in just over 2 hours. It took 3 1/2 hours to play the back.
A decent day of golf.
The only negative was that non-fairway areas on most holes were pretty ratty.
Great City Course
This course offers 27 holes, 9 of which I played today. The 9 I played were fairly easy with only bunkers and a little water to work around. The staff was very friendly and the price was right. I will definitely return.
Grounds keep driving up to greens to change holes at 10am mid back 9 :///
See above. Told front register clerk and was dismissed with no acknowledgement.. grounds keep would leave the engine running and wait for golfer(s) to finish and then drive up to the next green with subsequent golfers present and in the middle of their hole.
Great golf course
This Metroparks Golf course is excellent. Great layout and beautiful scenery. Greens are very nice and true. Although it was cart path only, because of several consecutive days of heavy rain, pace of play was 10 minutes per hole. Pace was excellent considering that the courses appeared to be booked solid and you never know the caliber of players who will be in front of you. Compliments to the staff for keeping all players moving at a friendly but consistent pace.
Going to be nice
First time I ever played Seneca. It’s wasn’t in terrific shape, but it was good enough. They usually keep the Metroparks courses in pretty good shape. This one will come back. I understand they are redoing one of the nines or something. I was talking to the starter about it and I can’t remember everything he said, but they are doing some work around the courses.
I understand aeration needs done but tell people before they book a tee time
I understand a course must be aerated but tell people BEFORE they book a tee time. The course also had standing water all over like new drainage was blocked shut off. If its cart path only also list that before someone books. 2 and especially 3 groups in front should have been kicked off they were playing so slow looking for balls so long backed up the last 4 holes so bad I couldn't play a 2nd 9. They have made furnace run nice but they need to monitor the pace better and inform golfers before booking better.
