From bad to worse
I thought they were making an effort to improve conditions but I believe they are as bad as they were two years ago. I love the layout, but conditions have to improve before I play it again. One of the worst courses around…
Ranger Desperately needed
We played a 5.5 hr 18 due to groups infront playing scrambles and being bad. A ranger to kick them along would have helped. The course looked like it used to be real nice, but is in desperate need of love. Fairways had bare spots, greens were sick. But we paid very little for the round and the course was interesting enough to make fun.
Nice layout, but…
The course truly has a nice layout. However, it needs some basic tree and turf maintenance to move it up a notch. There are a couple of tees where the trees are really in the way, and it’s not fair to anyone with a slice.
A complete disaster
This course cost my friend and I $57 to walk. This course has completely plummeted the last 10 years. The fairways have little to no grass on them. The entire course needs renovation. Some of the greens were ok, however in the beginning of the round the first green was cut and the second wasn’t. Also, in the second fairway, there were two GUR markers 3’ by 3’. I turned to my buddy and said, “shouldn’t these markers just sit at the four corners of the fairway?” It is a shame because there are a few decent holes on the property.
There is so much better value on the east side. Little Mountain, Madison, Fowler’s Mill, Chardon Lakes, and Manakiki just to name a few.
I will never be back on site at Legend Lakes.

Better conditions
The course earlier this year was in pretty rough shape due to the lack of rain which was expected. With the added rain the last few weeks the course looked pretty nice. Some of the fairways have some bare spots but the overall it’s not to bad.
Improving
Considering the condition in 2023, the course is in much better shape. The greens were nice and rolled well. It would be nice if more people repaired their pitch marks on the green but that goes for any course. Some of the fairways were a little beat up and had patches of dirt where grass once was.
Improved conditions
Conditions at Legend Lake has significantly improved from end of last year. They had lost a superintendent and at one point the course was virtually unplayable. Greens are in great shape and the work that was done there has shown- rolling true. The fairways do still need some work as there are patches of dead grass but the course is very much playable.
For those of us who like playing this course please continue to get back out and help fund the course! Still some work to be done but very much has a high potential to be a great local track
Sad Course
I worked at this course from 2006-2009 when it was private. This place has always been a special place to me. The layout and beauty of this course was absolutely outstanding til 3 years ago. I played here yesterday because rumors are circulating that this place will be sold and a development will be put in. The course has gone down hill, disease spots, scalped fairways, uneven greens, and disgusting ponds. This is my last farewell to this course and the memories I have there will be with me forever. Slow play
Played at 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday. Started out fine but by 2nd hole we were backed up thru 18. Very slow pace of play. Played here several times before without a problem. Wide open with a few water holes.
