Bad course conditions
I’m gonna start from the beginning. When we checked in I asked where the rest room was and I was told there are 1000 trees outside. The staff was pretty rude except for the girl behind the bar. Conditions were bad to be nice! A lot of dead grass and uneven fairways the putting greens were very beat up and almost impossible to putt on. We’re we’re asked 3 times to pick up the pace & then they made us let a group of 6 older gentleman in front of us and then we were held up for the rest of the holes. It was supposed to be a good day with me and my son some time to hang out and enjoy ourselves we both ended up having the worse golfing experience either of us have ever had. If I could give a negative star review I would! There were no visual maps of the holes. Most of the ball washers were broken or had no water in them. Flat out bad experience
Greens and traps
Greens were spotted and uneven and weeds are growing in many traps. It looks like they are gradually filling them in.
Needs work
Irrigation system is down. Understand a wall fell in the pump house. Greens are in terrible condition. Wouldn;t recommend playing until improvements are made.
Disappointing
It’s rare to see a course in this shape in June in NE Ohio.I am sure the super and his team did what they could do. I don’t know all the circumstances but there is no reason collars , tees, greens should be toast already.. Bunkers look like war fox holes.
Rough was let go and cut with bush hog .
The 19th hole & Lydia was only saving grace for LL. She will be a star whatever she does .
We had many course options to play at rates less than the $48 senior rate !!
I will only return to walk around in fall to see if the damage recovers. Call in for help board active members and get this guy help and capitol to renovate.
And lower you price to $22-25 that’s what it plays like now.
Disappointing !
Not right now
Played this course in the past and it was very nice. Couldn't believe how bad it is right now. Tee boxes and especially the greens were terrible. Employee said the irrigation system wasn't working and it showed. Like the course but will call there to check conditions before going back.
Nice Staff, Poor Confitions
Came to play on 6/21. Greens are burnt out and most bunkers are in poor shape or ground under repair. Staff and amenities are good but course is in poor shape.
Course needs a lot of work. Unfortunately short staffed but doing the best they can. Nice track. I was a member in the late eighties. Noticed change of front and back nines. Also, wondering why the change of the "old" seventeen now seven?
I would recommend the course to a friend only with caution.
Best of luck getting the course back to it's original condition.
Cause condition
It’s not the management’s fault that the course is in such bad shape as the pump house wall collapsed but it should have been stated prior to play and offered a discount or rain check
Investors vs Owners
It has been years since I played Legend Lakes and I was disappointed with some of the conditions. It was Memorial weekend and the bunkers were not groomed yet this year, they had weeds and grass growing in them. The greens were fast and hard with the holes being slightly elevated from being too dry. Dusty cart paths with recycled aggregate but with the dry ground you can pretty much cart anywhere. The employees were friendly and nice.
Needs alot of upkeep
Rough extremely high, grass clipping left everywhere.
Staff was kind. Not many refreshments; pace of play was ok. Fairways ok but patchy at times and very narrow. Seems like it was a nice place before and hopefully someone restores it back to it's former glory.
Needs Time
I could see that there are improvements on the horizon and this course could be back to roaring shape soon. Rough was way too long. Should not lose balls in the rough. I will be back and cant wait to see the improvements. The greens were the best .
Work in progress
Nice layout, friendly staff but the course is going through a major make over so in its current condition makes the pace really slow because your spending alot of time looking for your ball in the 4 to 5 inch rough. The bunkers have grass growing in them making them unplayable and taking the challenge out of the course, so I wouldn't recommend playing it right now.
I was told the plan is to cut the rough down to 2 inches, and they are Purposely allowing grass to grow in some of the bunkers to actually make them permanent grass bunkers.
New carts are great, and they are currently working hard to improve their course layout. Can't wait to play it again when all the work is complete.
legend lake
Second time playing this course this year and it's not gotten any better. The rough is awful. 3 to 4 inches deep and if you are off the fairway, you have a real hard time finding your ball. Definitely needs some TLD. besides the rough being so deep, the traps are in awful condition. Wil not be back until I see a review that says the rough has been cut down and they have done something with the sand traps.
Course conditions
Course is a lot of fun to play.. pace of play is always good needs TLC… but
Course looks a lot better than how it did last year.. and Course just got a new superintendent at the start of the year.. was told he is working on course conditions this year with an few other big/smaller projects to start the season so we have to give him some time!! Looking forward to seeing the progress of this course by the end of the year..
Needs some TLC
The course had a nice layout. The maintenance on the course was mixed. The fairways were in great shape. Greens were a mixed bag. A few rough shape greens and some nice greens. The lake of Legend Lake was empty and an eye sore. The sand traps were not maintained. All of them had grass and weeds in them and no racks. The areas outside the greens and fairways were not cut and were beyond US Open height. Balls a few feet off fairway were impossible to find. Another sign of a lake of diligence or manpower from the greenskeepers. Overall a nice layout overshadowed by poor maintenance.
