Golfer Reviews
Course is in rough shape
Haven't played here in over 5 years and unfortunately it's gonna from a really nice course to a a pretty bad course especially for normal rates. I love the layout of the course but the greens are in very rough shape. Bunkers are being worked on which is good but that will be a long project I'm sure. Honestly in the current condition this course is barely worth the the price I paid $36 let alone their normal rates. Hope this course can make a comeback because I'd love to play here again but that won't happen until their greens and bunkers are in better shape
Excellent improvements
Cleaning up the waste areas, improving traps course is in great shape
Improvements made
The cart paths and bridges used to be in very bad shape but have been very much improved and repaired which makes getting around the course more pleasant. Good that a lot of tall growth has been either removed or cut back to make getting to the green easier. Some greens still need repair in a few spots. Overall, a much improved experience on a good - and tough - golf course.
Not as good as I’m years past
This course has always been at the high end for area courses. The course and grounds are not as well kept especially for the prices.
Fowler’s Used to Be Amazing..
This course has a lot of great aspects..like design, layout and most maintenance. They are losing the greens with several Silver Dollar spots on every single green that they have painted green to attempt to hide. The greens are concerning to me, as I am afraid they may have to kill them and start over if they cannot resolve the Silver Dollar problem. It’s such a great layout and is so frustrating to see the sand being of poor quality/quantity and the greens starting to go..ballsy of them to charge $85 for a morning ‘weekend’ round IMO.
New friends
The round was enjoyable - especially the wonderful threesome I got to play with. Course was in good shape, staff was friendly.
Pace of play was not brisk - not brutally slow, but still slower than I would prefer. 5+ hour round.
Disappointing
Decided to splurge and pay $85 to play a courses that has the reputation as being one of the premier courses in Northeastern OH. I was very disappointed. Most of the greens showed signs of severe disease (see image). Greens were also very slow; appeared not to have been cut the day before. Sand traps lacked sand, some had rocks and pebbles or standing water and had not been racked in days (see image). Rough was high and had more clover than you would expect at a premier course. Bathrooms were not clean.
Great views and greens
Wonderful conditions, and terrific routings. We will be back.
