Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

very nice experience
Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a brief delay due to a shortage of carts but no real issue. Once off, pace of play was very good. Considering it was December, the tee boxes, fairways and greends were in vrey good shape. Many bunkers had a lot of standing water in them though. We did not use the beer cart but we were glad the young lady checked on us several times.
Very nice course
Course was in very good shape for late November. Very few leaves on fairways an Greens. There was a lot of standing water in the traps. It rained 2 days prior and still didn’t drain. Hamburgers were good, but overpriced. I enjoyed the day and the course.
Good course, needs work for price.
No carts available at tee time I had set, leaves were all over course, greens were rough. Staff and people were great. Also schedules behind 3, four-somes and couldn’t finish 18 holes in time that were paid for because of it.
Great Course
A little pricy but 0 complaints about the course. Everything was in great condition.
Enjoyable Round
Nice day, course in good condition. Pace of play 4 hrs 30 mins. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon. Greens were fast but playable. Will play again.
Nice conditions but.......
So we had a 2:24 “hot deal” which probably gave us just enough time to finish by sundown, but when we got to the course, we discovered that they sent a full tournament out at 2pm, and we all know a tourney usually always takes over 5 hours to play - if course we didn’t finish and with nobody to complain to (how convenient) except for the ranger, they have no responsibility to their customers - It’s a shame because the course was in really nice shape, but we won’t be back anytime soon !!!
Charge me for no show even though I called.
I cannot comment on course because I did not play. I made tee time less than 24 hours in advance but unfortunately had a family emergency the afternoon before my scheduled tee time. I tried to cancel on GolfNow but due to 24 hr cancelation policy they refused. So I called course and they refused saying I had to cancel with golfnow. THey promptly charged my credit card through GolfNow. Will never play there and never use GolfNow again. Ironically, it was also raining at the time of my tee time. I tried to do the right thing by calling them and telling them I would not show so they could re-book or send a walk-on out. But they still charged for all golfers. I could see charging a 1 golfer no show but all of us (it was only a twosome).
Little over priced
We arrived close to our tee time when I went into the pro shop and I asked them if they were on time on for the tee time because we wanted to hit balls the pro shop cashier gave me attitude saying “yes” well they weren’t. I then asked if they had rain gloves he gave me attitude again and said “did you even look over here and it’s not going to rain” well I knew he was wrong. But with that attitude I wasn’t buying anything. The course is not that bad but for the price so many other nice courses in the area to play. I wouldn’t play for 99 again probably only worth a $60 tops. Sand traps frequently had boulders in them and the lost some fairways. The course needs some love.
Don’t listen to all the naysayers
This is a fine course. Fourth year in a row playing. Yea the tee boxes are a tad rough who cares you’re hitting it off a tee and plenty of grass for your shoes.
Yes it was backed up but it’s a beautiful September and covid everybody wants to play. Not their fault per se. tee times a little bunched up.
