Pickaway Country Club
About
Pickaway Country Club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Jack Kidwell, a local architect who designed this course and many others in Central Ohio, utilized his familiarity with the terrain but still kept each golf course distinct. Pickaway has an interesting layout that will test your shot-making abilities and strategy with narrow fairways lined with trees and small, fast greens that are difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is one particularly difficult par-5 hole that requires a 250-yard drive over a meandering creek. Although the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges, they are balanced by a number of wide-open fairways that have ample space.

Always Pleasant Staff
I have only played this course a handful of times, but every time the staff, from pro shop, to cafe, to rangers have always treated me like a VIP. It really makes for a great day, especially on a better than average public course.
Nice cool first of autumn day
They are attempting to replace a number of tee boxes, so temporary tees are being utilized. Some fairways are in n need of additional grass. The greens are great. There are about 3 tee boxes that contain two holes worth of tees, which makes you have to think about which hole you are on. Don’t get cross crossed. The staff had us play off the back nine first, which was truly appreciated!!! Pace of play could not have been better. The course is in the process of improvements. A little disappointed because this is usually a true treasure of a course. They shared they are making improvements and we saw numerous folks on the course working on improvements.
Pickaway CC
Understand it's getting late in season and course trying to recover many tee boxes, but putting tee markers in 6 inches high grass or completely bare spots is not appealing for this course
Meh at best
The staff was very nice I can't say that enough. After that it was all kind of crappy! I asked for a bucket of balls for the range and got a bag of balls that were drudged up from all the water hazards on the course and the balls were all muddy with half of them having actual chuncks of mud. I was told the range was short to mid irons only (which is fine with me) and that the path to reach it was around the back side of 18 green. Well you needed an all terrain vehical and a machete to get there as the path was a swampy hilly overgrown mess. The range itself was unmarked in anyway. It did however have a sand bunker which was nice. The tee times were a minimum of 30 min behind. Once on the course the condition ranged from hard pan to swamp and not much in between. The layout was also goofy as alot of tee boxes are shared between holes which wouldn't be an issue but it seemed you always had to come towards and in front of the people teeing off for the other hole which seemed rather dangerous. The first cut of rough was very long and more suitable for the second cut. There was also alot of bare spots and standing water on the fairways. The fairways were narrow with alot of mature trees (which may be the courses best feature) The greens were very slow unremarkable with very little movement. I am not a golf snob by any stretch but I left this course with the notion that I would likely never go back even though the price was not bad.
The course has suffered some burn out then a lot of rain.
Decent round
Kinda hard to get around without knowing layout but decent course.
Course with a view
Course with a view, Greg Course tea boxes in greens well manicured fairways.
Enjoyable round
Nice old course, fairways and tees could use a little work, pace was great
Great Public Country Club
I always enjoy playing this course. The staff is friendly and the players are always polite and the course is in good shape. Great course for any handicap. Just a good time.
