Hemlock
nicest staff fairways and greens are in great shape even with the dry weather
well maintained
Even though we have seen a lot of rain recently, the course was in great shape. I love the design. Can be challenging or playing at the whites can be more accommodating for average players.
Holes 10-12 gives a little "amen corners" feel.
Greens are superb. I have been playing this course for over 20 years and in recent years upgrade to the course and clubhouse menu are vastly improved. Fun and challenging place to play at reasonable rates.
Great Shape
For as dry as the weather has been, the course was in great shape. I have seen the greens a little faster but they were fast and fair the day we played. The fairways were green and not burned off like many courses. The staff was very friendly and seemed glad to have us there. Will definitely go back.
Hemlock springs
Course in good condition, fast greens
Review of Hemlock Springs
We have no problems with this course. People are friendly course is great prices wonderful
Nice layout.
Nice lay out. A lot of different holes. The weather conditions were extremely hot and dry but the course played well. greens were soft and in great condition. Staff was fabulous and friendly
Good Value for a nice course!
The greens were kept nice. Fairways were better than expected condition. This is not a top notch course, so I would say the fairways, roughs, and greens are on par with the type of course. But definitely not a low level course like Pleasant valley. I would compare this course to St. Dennis and Pine ridge Where the course is the condition of a $30 round. The Fairways are a little less well kept. Although St Dennis and Pineridge are more expensive as of late! Wide open on the drives. Not super challenging. The slopes on the greens make it challenging. Easier than most courses to get to a lot of greens in two with good shots.
Greens and fairways are in decent shape. Golf Pro and Starter were very friendly.
I decided to give the course a 2nd try after the fiasco with GolfNow booking last week. The course was packed with golf outings so the 1st nine played very slow. The course was in good shape and will vastly improve once we get some rain.
Hot Course that Remains Green Even During Extended Dry Weather Spells
While the June weather and scarcity of rainfall water has left many area courses in Northeast, OH very dry, way too fast and unpredictable - this family-owned course has remained up to par in terms of normal playability. An aggressive watering maintenance effort is obvious as I experienced little change in playability from the previous months of April and May. Greens are in great condition and fairways very well-maintained for performance.
A trip to Geneva to play this course is a worthwhile drive. It is well laid out - catering to all types and levels of golfers. Excellent service by all management and staffers. A very conscientious grounds crew is polite and accommodating to golfers when having to perform maintenance operations.
The tireless and friendly Manager named Brian is very visible and at the course just about every day tending to required business and customer needs.
A beautiful new wooden outdoor patio deck is inviting and a great place to sit down and chill out at the turn, or just to hang out after a round.
Poor customer service! Why the 40% rate hike from 2015 for Golf Now customers?
I was considering booking for a 1250 tee time with Golf Now and called ahead to see if I could tee off a little earlier. I was told absolutely NOT because they don't make any money on Golf Now customers! First of all I do not believe they get nothing for Golf Now bookings. Yes it might be a lower rate but isn't that better that not having golfers out there and making something. This course obviously does not want Golf Now customers so they should drop off of the Golf Now site. Other courses in the area such as Powderhorn, Hickory Grove, Wicked Woods, Pleasant Hill, etc. let me tee off earlier without any hassle. Highly recommend Golf Nowers NOT play this course!
Great course...poor staffing
had an 8:20 tee time & not the friendliest of greetings, but no big deal. Tee off & the course is in good shape. As I finish the first 9 holes in under an hour, I see they allowed a league to shotgun start off the back nine. It would've taken 3 hours to play the backside. Ended up having to quit & leave. Horrible decision making for speed of play. Poor course management
What's with the 40% increase in Golf Now rates from last year!
I played this course several times last year with 2-3 friends. The Golf Now Hot Deal rates have increased 40% from last year. I will play alot of other nice courses near me for much less and I won't have to drive the 25 miles one-way.
Great course
Even with cold rainy weather,it was a great time. Course in great shape, staff treated us like we were l lost friends. Can't wait to go back in good weather.
A nice community course
Went with a friend on a perfect fall day. There was nobody immediately in front of us or behind us so we never felt rushed and took our time. The course was pretty well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The free yardage book was a nice touch though some of the tee locations were out of date. No real complaints here. I'll definitely be back.
Great First Impression
I played Hemlock Springs for the first time and it was an excellent experience. The staff were curteous and efficient and the course was in very good shape, especially the greens. If I could have hit the narrow fairways< i would have played better, but I'll be better prepared next time, and there will be a next time, I have added this to my play list, it's worth the drive from Cleveland.
Beautiful Course Conditions
Very fun and challenging course layout for intermediate to advanced players. I would consider the greens to be on the large side of normal. The front 9 is a great warm up for holes 10 - 13, which has been called “Amen Corner of Northeastern Ohio”. Course staff is always friendly and accommodating. Ownership continues to improve every facet of the property from tee to green, as well the cart paths and the clubhouse. The driving range is also very nice. I always take friends and family to Hemlock when I get the chance.
A good time
The course is cut through the trees which putts a premium on driving accuracy. Strategy instead of power can keep away the high scores. The people were very friendly and made the overall experience fun. Free yardage book was a nice bonus and very helpful.
