More weeds than grass
The course was in fairly poor shape. It was clear that nothing had been mowed for several days. Fairways and tee boxes played more like the rough because the grass was so long. There were also more weeds (crabgrass, nutsedge, and goosegrass) on the tees and fairways than actual grass. Greens were soft and slow and had significant areas of dead turf. In general, the course is overprice for the playing conditions. The only saving grace was the relatively fast pace of play (18 holes in 4 hr 15 min).
bad course conditions. no water
can you believe that in the middle of a heat wave this course has NO water for golfers! not a single water jug, not a single cooler of water. almost criminal.
And it is a poorly maintained course that is not at all challenging
Over-priced at full price
I played today and payed $65. There are better deals /courses for golf in the area. The greens are slow and inconsistent. The pace of play and interaction with staff were both good. I might have been ok with paying 1/2 the price I payed.
Great value for the money
Course was in better shape than I have seen it in a long time. Greens were slower than usual but that may be due to some intermittent rain and dry weather, trying to keep them healthy. It was a very hot day and you have to either bring your own water or buy it from the course. They do not have coolers on the course because they've been dealing with a contamination problem for several years.
Disappointing
Course is ok for a local, convenient place to play.
1) Policy of no checking in prior to 15 minutes before one's tee time is ridiculous. Add a staff member with a bad attitude, and it makes for a good start to the day.
2) Starter had half his "sheet" empty and had NO Idea who was playing when.
3) 4 groups per hole AVERAGE throughout the day and not a sign of a "ranger" except for on the 2nd hole when he came out to tell everyone that it was those who booked online the same day that are to blame. What?!
4) No water coolers on the course - not A ONE.
5) No beverage carts on the course - not a ONE.
6) No sand in bunkers. It was like hitting off the street.
7) Completely indifferent staff.
All businesses run into problems at some point. It's how it's handled that makes the difference. In this case, there wasn't a word mentioned of how badly the course was backed up, only that they were 25 minutes behind on tee times. Had I not overheard the conversation between the guy with the bad attitude at the check-in desk and the starter, I would've never known. Unacceptable. A warning BEFORE you take my money is the least I expect.
To then be completely disinterested in the fact that the course was a complete disaster and not even give the appearance of trying to move things along was just downright shameful. 3-4 groups per hole, on every hole, and not a ranger to be seen in 5+ hours? Unacceptable.
I will certainly seriously reconsider playing at this course again. It's just not a good enough course, regardless of cost, to put up with the mess that was yesterday.
Course Conditions
Fairways and Greens are in great shape providing they have enough Rain and well water to continue the upkeep. The only thing is that I wish the bunkers had real sand in them its like hitting out of very fine mud (dirt and not sand). I know what you are going to say is then don't hit your ball into the Bunkers lol. I I could do that I would be on TV. Nice course well kept. My foursome stopped playing there for a while do to the why it was being maintained.
Bring your own water
First time back since played here about 5 years ago but, not coming back any time soon. Under low 90 degree in hot weather, there's not a single water cooler available on entire course. Not mention no cart girl anywhere in sight. Was in a verge of collapse dying of thirst.... Never been to a course with NO WATER COOLER, NO DRINK CART!! . I'm sure this will drive other golfers away. I don't know how I finished last 3 holes because all I can think about is cold water. The course itself has average layout with extremely slow green.
Great Value
For the price, this is a really great course. The scenery is beautiful, and the hills make for an enjoyable round.. The greens are a bit slow and some of the bunkers need some upkeep, but other than that the course was super enjoyable.
Course renewed
The course was updated since I was last there. It is well maintained and is a very forgiving course. This is a great course for the average recreational or beginner golfer. The fairways are wide enough so as to stay on course and still be challenging. The scenery and greenery is good and the snack bar is clean.
Gem of a course
Great varied course with challenging holes.
Front 9 was better cared for than the back 9 but a beautiful course in all.
Great course and value
We played 18 holes each day at this course, and played it three times in the past week. We had a great time all three times. The rate of play was only bad one day when we were backed up 3 to 4 on the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes. It was a Saturday but the ranger should be out looking for that. The course itself was in great shape. The tee boxes are closed but the fairways and greens were very nice. Almost all leaves were of the course. No problem finding balls that were hit in the play area. Would play this course again.
bunker hill is bunker hill
An interesting layout for a short course. it defends itself with smallish greens. Course conditions are usually average to worse than average factoring in the general weather at the time. I wouldn't make it a particular point to play this course but if you do, leave your driver and high expectations at home and you might have a good time!
THE ENTIRE COURSE IS A MESS
THE ENTIRE COURSE IS A MESS. I DEFINITELY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO PLAY THERE AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THERE FOR LIKE 10 YEARS AND AFTER JUNE THE ENTIRE COURSE GETS BURNED UP. THEY JUST CHANGED MANAGEMENT RECENTLY AND THE MANAGER IS VERY RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS. HE THINKS HE'S A COMEDIAN. I THINK HE SHOULD FOCUS MORE ON CUSTOMER RETENTION BY NOT BEING RUDE TO STEADY CUSTOMERS AND TRY AND GET THE COURSE IN BETTER SHAPE. THERE IS DIRT EVERYWHERE AND THEY HAVE DIRT TRAPS INSTEAD OF SAND TRAPS. YOU'D THINK THEY WOULD SPEND A FEW BUCKS AND PUT SOME SAND IN THE TRAPS. THE PRICE IS VERY INEXPENSIVE SO IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT COURSE CONDITIONS AND ONLY ABOUT SAVING MONEY, THIS MAY BE FOR YOU. THE WHOLE COURSE IS BEIGE AND DIRT. YOU GET A NICE RUN ON THE FAIRWAYS BECAUSE THEY ARE AS HARD AS A ROCK. THEY JUST PLUG AERATED THE OTHER DAY SO IF YOU DON'T MIND GREENS WITH SPEED BUMPS THEN BE MY GUEST AND GO BANG A ROUND. I WON'T BE GOING BACK ANYTIME SOON. ESPECIALLY WITH THAT RUDE IDIOT NEW MANAGER. THIS REVIEW WASN'T JUST POSTED BECAUSE OF HIM AND HIS ATTITUDE. THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW AND AFTER YOU PLAY THERE YOU WILL DEFINITELY AGREE WITH ME. PRINCETON COUNTRY CLUB IS A GEM COMPARED TO THIS DUMP.
Bunker Hill
Course is a very nice course. The greens were excellent, fairways are brown which is to be expected since we haven't had rain in 40 some days. Nice place to play
Need Alittle Water
To me it was to early in the season for the course to be dried up. The tee boxes were beat up, the fairways were extremely dry and the greens were like rock. It appears that they have stopped watering the course. Overall, still not a bad value for the money. The staff was extremely welcoming and my friend who made my breakfast was excellent. One of the easier courses I've played this season, because of the length. By know means am I a great golfer, but 8 pars is my career best.LOL. I will be back next season.
the fairway was not fair
Severe drought. Fairways are gone but the green was good
Cow pasture
It was in good shape. However, that was last year. Don't bother so many other good courses in the area.
