Hinckley Hills Golf Course
About
Situated between Cleveland and Akron, Hinckley Hills Golf Course sprawls across the rolling hills of northeastern Ohio. In addition to the 18-hole championship course, there is also a short course called the Buzzard's Nest. This course features five par-4 holes that are located right in the middle of the championship course. It's a great option if you don't have time for a full 18 holes. Hinckley Hills' longer course is a challenging test that will have you using all the clubs in your bag. The undulating greens and lush contoured fairways demand accuracy, especially when coupled with the abundant woodlands. The golf course is a seemingly manageable 6,500 yards from the back tees but it can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. There are also a few water hazards to watch out for.

A shame
Have been wanting to play this course for a long time. Boy was I disappointed. Just like other reviews the bunkers have no sand in them, just craters with weeds. Greens were beautiful looking but were like sponges 🧽. You had to really hit it hard. Some of the holes like 13. Made zero sense. Forcing you to lay up because the holes were so doglegged . Probably would have been ok 20 years ago but tree growth made them just stupid. Course has so much potential but lack of upkeep just destroyed my expectations. I got an incredible deal that's why I'm not totally upset but had I paid full price I'd be incredibly mad. It's just a matter of time before this course is sold and turned into a housing development. It really makes me sad as a golfer to see courses like this on their last leg but mark my words this old course is on it's way out. What a shame what a shame!

This is a challenging golf course. The rough was about 2” too high which made it very difficult to find any balls that were in the rough. The greens were very slow slowest that I’ve been on this year.
Old course, has potential but needs a lot of work. Greens were huge but very long and slow. Some green boxes were like hitting out of the rough.
Great course except 13
Front nine for the most part is mostly wide open back nine more tree line an 13 in my book is unplayable very thin fairways an a pot creek in the middle of fairway put in a large sewer pipe an cover it up problem solved
Starter is the guy of legends
Great course that makes you think about your shots and short drives through a scenic forest in-between holes. The starter was an absolute madman, huge fan
Excellent course condition
I’ve been in the golf industry for more than 40 years. I always stressed tees, fairways and greens in the courses I’ve managed.. I understand that in a rainy Spring it’s very difficult if not impossible to try to keep everything perfectly manicured. Hinckley Hills does an amazing job of maintaining the big 3. I never complain about the conditions of the rough because I know I’m not supposed to be there.
