Great greens
Greens were best around. Haven't played in a while but will definitely be back. Great course for the money.
Easy to get out on
The staff is friendly. Playing around 8:00 would probably be the best time because of grass cutting and the completion of green cleaning. Played early greens still covered with due making it little more challenging. Greens are in excellent shape.
course is secluded gem. challenging semi long course
This place is a secluded gem. Would not expect to find a golf course there. It is in a village so you may not think it is public course. No good signs from road so unless you know it is there you would not just travel by and see. Friendly staff. Challenging course. Front is shorter. Back is long and wide. The ball ran like crazy on the back. The greens were slow and not show.much break. They looked in good condition but just not break like you would expect. For the money this is a great value. Since secured it is not packed so you can enjoy. I highly recommend it.
Friendly course
Tees and greens in excellent shape. Fairways okay. Very friendly staff. Some easy holes, some tricky holes for a first-time player.
very friendly course
great staff and very friendly people
very open course so you won't lose many balls
good mixture of challenging holes and easy ones
very well kept greens
Fun course with friendly staff
I golfed here three times over the course of a week. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The course was very fun and in good condition and has quickly became one of my favorite courses. Some holes are challenging while others are more open. We also had a beef hot dog and polish sausage on the turn, which was excellent! lol
Great value and friendly people
Played 18 in just over 3 hours today. Not because it wasn't busy, but rather the pace of play was good due to not having to hunt for your ball. If you go out or far off the fairway you will pay by having to hit back into play before your approach shot, but at least you can find your ball. Greens and approach ways were excellent. Some clover on course but not distracting or overwhelming. Will definitely be back and bring other with me.
Value nestled in the country
We got a very good deal on golf now to go to check out this course a favorite of my early golf days. I found the course to be much the way I remember it. First the on course experience. The front nine starts out pretty open and forgiving for most players and tightens up around hole 7. I enjoyed deciding what shot I wanted to make off the 7th and 8th tee. The back nine is much more open. With only a couple bodies of water to test you along the way. We have played twice in the last couple weeks and I shot about 6 strokes better on the back both times. In my opinion the front has a little more character. Both nines are as flat as an iron however it seems like the raised green was this developers thing and some on the back nine are raised enough you may consider 1 club up. Overall conditions weren't perfect, but that is certainly not meaning it was bad by any means. Cons there was little definition between the fairway and the rough and I found the greens to be super slow which was hard to get used to compared to many of the other places I played. On the plus side the soft greens lended a for gentle landing spots for 5 irons from a 185 yards out (a shot that does not have a prayer of sticking at mallard creek no matter how high you get it) this courses layout is fun and the pace is always pretty quick, also it is really hard to lose a ball here. Also, it was dry do roll outs tended to be longer than usual I'll let you decide if that's good or bad. I think it can be challenging enough for a very good golfer to enjoy yet you can take your beginner golf friend out and have a good time. I think their regular prices might be a bit high for the area and the course, but this course is worth checking out for a reasonable price.
Tees and Greens in great condition
3 of us played. Had no wait anywhere on the course. The tees and greens were in great condition. The fairways were cut nicely. All members of the staff that we encountered were friendly. The mowers stopped and waited for us to play through. Could not have asked for a better day to play. Will play there again.
Pheasant Run
The Personnel Were Great! Greens in good condition.. Would go back again.
Great value for the money
Relatively easy course . Needs weed cleaner . Greens were okay .
Birthday fun
From start to finish this was overall an enjoyable experience. It was my first time here and my fiancées first time back in 15 years. I was not sure what to expect (for the $15 we payed from golfnow) out of this round. But the staff was friendly and very helpful (they gave coolers for backup beverages) and the clubhouse is nice. The course itself isn't immaculate but it is a very fun course. The front 9 is a little tighter and the back 9 is pretty open. On the front 9 we were held up behind some larger groups, so we decided to see if we could make the turn and return later to finish the front. This was no problem and we flew through the back 9, until we got a flat tire on 17. But we called the clubhouse and we were told to finish up the last two holes because "someone will have to drive it in anyways". But overall decent course, alright pave, and a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
never again
a cow pasture , no fairways only short rough called fairways. also, yardage on score card greatly underestimated. therefore plays much longer. only good thing were the greens. no wonder they offer great deals, strictly a come on. don't waste yout time or money.
Didnt see any Pheasants
Greens were very good. Tee boxes too. I really like how long the back nine is from the back tees. For those of us who can hit it 250+ from the tee, it is great. You dont get this kind of distance from many public Lorain count courses.
Frank in the clubhouse was awesome. Very friendly and and welcoming.
Course is open and flat, but there are several subtle hazards such as trees and small ponds that you don't notice until you mark down your double bogey.
Overall, the course was a great value and a lot of fun to play
It is not a country club and doesn't pretend to be one. Give it a try and have some fun.
Great deal
The staff was very friendly. The course was in great shape. I will definitely be back!!!
Incredible course for incredible value
Solid course for a great price. Greens were cut perfectly, no missing patches. Really friendly staff that are accommodating and helpful will be back only wish there were water fountains on course or bev cart
Excellent Course
The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly. Shorter roughs made finding my ball easier.
Great Course
I played this course around noon on a weekday. One group let me play through and I was finished within three hours. The staff was friendly and told me where the first and tenth tee boxes were. The rough was cut short which made it less challenging and a lot easier to find a misguided shot. This is a course I would like to play again.
great place to play!!!!!
The golf course was in great condition would recommend it to everybody I play golf with the staff was friendly and very polite and courteous to everybody who walked on the door great course to play intermediate Pro or anything very wide open and just a great course to play can't wait for my next I'm there!!!!!!
great course
I've played here several times and always enjoy myself. Granted early in the year there was some rough spots due to a lot of rain and bad weather but you had that with every public course. Since the weather has improved the course is in great condition. Short fairways and reasonable roughs. The greens are always running pretty fast for too. It has a decent amount of trees, water hazards and sand traps unlike most public courses in the area. The layout of the course is well designed, not too challenging but not so easy you break your best score everytime. Overall it's a great course, great clubhouse, and kind employees.
