STAY AWAY
Nothing on this plot of land resembles a golf course. Fairways and rouf were like a wheat field. Stay away from this course unless you're a goat. THEY SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE OFF OF GOLF NOW
Great value for the money
18 holes in 3:15 excellent course could use the grass cut more often otherwise great value and friendly people
Long Lost course member!
Tee boxes and greens are always excellent at The Pheasant Run Golf course. Greens were a little on the spongy side but rolled true. The fairways are just mowed down weeds and the rough is over grown making you spend unwanted time looking for golf balls. Get a better mower please and lower the blades. The course has low budget for spending obviously but if you ever want to get people out to play make it fun to play not a job. We had a threesome and spent 10 minutes a hole just looking for balls at the very least. BTW No membership 2014 first time they have ever done that :(
Will return in the future
Tee boxes and greens were in great condition and fairways were cut properly. Played with 3 people and didn't have anyone in front or behind us. Great experience and friendly staff. Will definitely return in the future.
great value for the money
Found this course through GolfNow...only 25mins from the house. Management very friendly and helpful. The course is well maintained...greens in good condition. Fairly open course. Great place for a couple to go play golf or a scrambles group to go. Easy to find and great value for the money. I will be bringing friends out with me next time.
Pheasant RUn
course is fairly open, it is in Lagrange. Very friendly staff and a great value. They had a variety of sandwiches, brats, dogs, etc in the clubhouse.
Its a great place to bring a beginner or younger player.
Nice golf course!
While I saw no "Pheasant's Running," I did enjoy a nice game of golf on a well-kept course. The course conditions are better now than they were several years ago when I played the course frequently.
Gnarly Rough
Pheasant Run was a nice, open course that isn't too long. I took my dad there on Father's Day. He's in his early 60s and not very long, so I thought it would be a good place for him to play. The course was a deal through GolfNow. The entire course needed to have the mower decks lowered. We hit several balls just off the fairway that we had to search for because the rough was so high. The fairways were probably more cut like the average rough. It definitely slowed our pace of play down, but we were still done in 4 hours. We had a twosome behind us be rather rude, hitting in to us twice. The second time, they hit into us, drove right up and played through without asking. We had already played our second shots on a par 5 and decided we had little choice but to let them go. When they looked at our balls in the middle of the fairway, they asked if we were playing the hole. We said yes and they had hit into us twice. We let them go through so that we could finish our round without any further interruptions. It was a good course for the value, but won't be on my list to return to soon.
Very good course for the price
Overall experience was good. People were friendly, the clubhouse was kept up and clean. The course is definitely a great play for the price.
The tee boxes were in good condition and the greens played very well. Some were pretty challenging. I preferred the back 9.
The best thing about this course was playing without being rushed! They didnt seem over busy so it was nice to play at my own pace.
Good selection of beer and snacks.
Overall I will be back
Thick unmitigated rough
Had to be right over your ball to find it in the rough, and the faIrways weren't much better.
No real definition of rough to fairway.
Greens were spongy, but rolled true.A tad slow.
Deer flies were unbearable.
Would NOT recommend in this condition.
The Course
played well. fairways were good and greens were great. rough was a little high but the rain probably prohibited cutting then to proper length. staff was great and pace of play was awesome. if you want pebble beach conditions, go to pebble beach. we are going back again this week. great course for the money
Course Conditions
The course was is surprisingly good condition. The greens were well manicured and the fairway was recently mowed.
Nice course
Needs to cut new holes edges were rounded in and the rough was a little long had a rough time finding the ball
Nobody Home
Booked tee time, cost $10, got to course, closed. If you are going to charge to book a starting time and then choose to not open I should not be penalized. Maybe pull them off the website. I drove 40 miles to find an abandoned course. I would not recommend this course to anyone.
Needs a lot of work
The greens were OK but bumpy. There wasn't really a defined fairway. Maybe the "fairway" was cut a half inch shorter than the rough. Clover everywhere. We lost a ton of golf balls in the clover. Just awful.
I will never play this course again
I booked through Golfnow.com Thank God I Did My same group of guys how have been playing over 30 plus years of golf. We had a 12:30 PM tee time. On the first hole there was a foursome that was ahead of us as we were waiting to tee off. They were in the middle of the fairway looking for there golf balls 20 minutes had past by and they still were looking for there golf balls they finally give up and put new balls into play after 50 minutes went by they were done and on there way to the second hole. We finally got to tee off at 1:20 PM All four of us put our golf balls in the middle of the fairway we also experienced the same thing 20 minutes later we can not found our golf balls either so we used a new balls and had to guess where all of our golf balls landed 50 minutes later we were done. We went to the second hole waited again for the foursome ahead of us. What they were doing is looking for golf balls and they finally finished up and we tee off next again all four of our golf balls right down the middle of the fairway. again we were looking 20 minutes for our golf balls we give up and put new golf balls done 50 minutes it took us to finish the second hole. Finally we are on the 9th hole and I decide to take out my tape measure and I measure the middle of the fairway greens and it was between 5-7 inches tall no liar. We finished the 9th hole tried and got something to eat the hot dogs were burnt and the tuna sandwich was tear able even to eat. So we went out to start the back nine just hoping it would be better it just get worse for us middle of the fairway on the 10th hole same results lost golf balls again finished the hole and went to the 11th hole All four of our golf balls in the middle of the fairway again same results looking 20 minutes for our golf balls one of my guys noticed something strange he saw somebody on a tractor cutting the grass but he wasn't in the middle of the fairway cutting, but he was cutting the out of bounce area instead we all look at each other and said why isn't he cutting the fairways. Finally the 18th hole with nobody behind us we each tee off for the final time today and 3 of us hit it in the middle of the fairway one was in the rough we were playing best ball all day long spent 20 minutes again looking for our golf balls no luck new golf balls again and we finally finished the 18th hole and drove our carts back to each of our cars. Each one of us was frustrated angry upset and so tired from looking for our golf balls in 5-7 inches of grass We each said to one another this by far is the worst and I mean worst golf course we as a group as ever played in Ohio and we went home very disappointed in the entire day. Please Golfers we mean it stay far away from this Golf Course that you can.
Pheasant Run - ok under the circumstances
Due to the large amounts of rain recently, the rough was very high and glass clippings made finding the ball difficult. Greens were ok but a little spongy.
review
Course was in ok shape considering the amount of rain that we have had. The grass was not cut very well, again because of the rain. We spent more time looking for our balls. Lost a few even though they were in the fairway. Course has a nice layout.
Stay away
By far the worst Golf Course in Ohio. I never played or seen a golf course without fairways it's all rough then greens. Fairway about 7'' of grass you will lose your ball in the middle of the fairway not joking. This course needs to shut down. I will contact golf now for a refund.
