Great Value
Went out for 18 on a somewhat dreary Saturday. Course wasn't busy, pace of play was fast and in solid shape for this time of year. Greens on the front weren't quite in midseason form, but the back nine had some of the nicest greens I've seen. Really excellent conditions on the back.
In about a month or so this course is going to be a real gem. For the price, you can't beat it. Course is fairly open but has some interesting holes. Staff was very friendly and pleasant to work with. Been here a few times and will be back a few more. I recommend giving it a shot for a casual round
Horrible Condition
Came to the course today the Groundskeeper told me the grass was long and that it needed mowed. The rain has been interfering with course maintenance. That was an understatement. The grass must have been two inches high in the fairway. The first cut of rough was worse. I lost numerous golf balls and had to search long and hard for my ball even in the fairway. In the past few wks. I have golfed at Springvale, Forest Hills, Cossett Creek, Coppertop, Pinebrook, and Mallard Creek.. Not one of these courses had any problem whatsoever with fairway maintenance. Forest Hills and Springvales fairways are like carpet. No excuse, Pheasant Run shouldn't even be open if they are going to present their course to the public like this. Spritzer owns it.
Springtime Golf
this course is very open which is good for average golfers, the fairways were in good shape for this time of year, the greens were alittle slow, but in good shape, great course for the money for sure! thanks again for another great round.
hidden gem
This course is a hidden gem. Great value and solid couse. Front nine is more narrow with alot of doglegs. The back nine is wide open so great place to break out the driver and letter rip. Frank the owner is very friendly and willing to help in any way. Come do a round of golf here. You won't regret it and since good value you'll have bucks left over the hit the bar next door afterwords for a cold one. Stop on out....
nice
good little course for the money. although its early spring the course was not soggy. greens all decent. very little play so no slow downs! will play here again. great course to come out and practice. and they rarely force you to go cart path only, unlike other snobby courses.
Great experience
The course was nice and the staff was great and very friendly. They have a open draw scramble every Thursday starting late April for only a 5 dollar buy in plus your greens fees for 9 which are very reasonable. Can't wait to head back there
Great Course
Wonder course great condition!! Staff is fantastic and very military friendly!!
Great bang for the buck
Course was in great shape. Most of the leaves had fallen, even the rough was pretty clean. Greens have been aerated. Couldn't ask for a better day.
Great staff!
We got off to a bumpy start planning to play Brentwood and then rudely getting bumped since they already had our money (we were using vouchers). I commented to my playing partner that it's amazing how rude staff can be at golf courses. Not so at Pheasant Run. Both times we played here this summer the staff has been very friendly.
The course is a good value. While conditions weren't perfect, for $20 (GolfNow) on the cusp of November, they met my expectations. We had a really good time.
Great staff decent east course.
The course plays very easy there are a few water hazards here and there but nothing too crazy. I normally shoot high 80s low 90s and shot an 81 because how simple the course was. If you are looking for an inexpensive bread and butter solid course this one is the one for you if you are looking for a challenge keep going. The staff was overly friendly and went out of their way to tell me the lay of the land and even offered me a free 9 to come back and try their Thursday shotgun scramble. Overall I'd play it again for the money.
Good course, just needs some up keep.
This was my first time golfing at this course and I must say it was a decent course. Greens were in great shape. The layout was challenging but forgiving as well. The only downfall I felt was the up keep of the fairways. There really wasn't much of a difference between rough and fairway. But overall good times at the course.
Nice beginners course
I played the course as part of a foursome. Had a great day to play. The fairways on the front nine were a little rough with a few ruts. The back nine was in great condition. Overall, not too many areas for a player to get into trouble and I'd say this is a good course for anyone still learning the game.
Good practice course.
Course is designed more for solid practice in accuracy off the tee and wedge play. More for a newer golfer. Conditions of tees and fairways were fair at best. Greens in very good condition. Food at facility next door quite good.
Best Condition
This was the best condition I have seen this course. Receptive greens that rolled smooth. Staff was more than generous. Played 54 holes straight. Fairways were manicured nicely. Shot my 3 lowest rounds ever.
A great course!
This was my third time playing this course. It just keeps getting better every time. We were able to play 18 in a little over 3 hours even with groups on every hole. It is very much well worth the drive from anywhere. It is an absolute bargain to play there even without the Hot Deal. Check this course out!
Perfect late morning
Had a great time there ! Had a late morning tee time got off on time and basically had the front 9 to ourselves.
Great value, nice course
Course was in great shape even after having 5+ inches of rain in the last few weeks. Staff was unbeleivably friendly and willing to answer any questions. The one guy even gave us a hole by hole rub down before we played. I will definitely be back
First time course play
This place wasn't terrible but there wasn't anything great about it. There was a low amount of people so the pace wasn't bad. The biggest issues was the course wasn't well kept. Hole 11 has a old sandpit that has been overgrown with grass but the worst was all the fairways. The fairways that didn't exist. The grass was not mowed and everything was like rough.
Not a bad time.
Booked a golf now tee time after a couple days of rain. Course was pretty dry and fairly well kept. Flat and open. Good course for beginners.
Cut the fairways
The biggest downfall was that the fairways were not cut. There was no difference between the fairway and the rough. By the time we got to the back 9 they were at least cutting it but they had two regular lawn tractors. The tractors were in the way most of the back 9 where some of the grass was long and some short. We played on friday of July 4th weekend so you'd think they would have had the grass done thursday. we didn't hit the back 9 until 2pm so it's not like we were the early birds on a day almost everyone has off. A friend was playing with yellow and orange balls and still lost a few just off the fairway.
Got a sausage at the turn and could barely bite through it, it was that tough. I must say the staff was awesome and for the most part we had a good time. we drove almost an hour to play so it was a little disappointing. I would probably still play there again.
