Fox Creek Golf & Racquet Club
About
Located just 30 miles west of Cleveland, FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club is one of the best golf courses in Lorain County. The layout has a classic design with a shorter length and forgiving fairways. The terrain is hilly, which provides the most challenging elements of the course from the rolling undulations to the elevated tees and greens. You'll encounter numerous doglegs as well as a few blind approaches. The postage stamp-sized greens can be especially tricky. They are faster than they seem and have subtle breaks where you wouldn't expect. From the back tees, the golf course will test even the most seasoned golfer, however, FoxCreek has a nice balance of tough and player-friendly holes with plenty of variety. Your score will depend more on how creatively you utilize your shot making skills rather than on sheer strength or distance.

Great Challenging course
Fairways and greens were great. Raven was very nice, Course makes you play every club in your bag. Better signage would be nice, and a lower cut on the rough, would make it easier to find your ball.
Throw a couple hundred thousand at it and a new front desk girl, it'll be awesome!
Course layout was pretty awesome!
Upkeep is telltale.
I wouldn't pay $35 for 18 here let alone $50 again.
Front desk lady... you'll see if you go 🤣
It really is a neat layout and a challenging course. It's just way overpriced. There are plenty of city courses that are nicer.
If I could give this less than 1 star I would
First time playing this course and it will most definitely be my last. Course conditions weren’t great, the tee boxes were pretty beat up and the greens weren’t healed from being punched. The real problem was pace of play and the course not having a marshal. I paid for 18 but left after playing 9 holes that took almost 3 hrs. Was also denied a refund by the person in the pro shop ( if you want to call it that) because I wasn’t leaving because of bad weather.. if you want to play a 5.5- 6 hr round this is the place for you.
Great elevations. Challenging greens
Needs some work on the tee boxes and greens. Shouldn’t have sand in the greens under repair. With that said the elevations are great and the greens specifically 6, 11, and 17 are challenging. Maybe try to trim back some of the foliage in some holes, repair bunkers, and the ponds are hideously brown.
Where to begin?
The previous comments about the lady behind the counter confirmed. She was awful. Conditions were ok for this time of the year, but I have area rugs bigger than some green. They decided somehow to have a par 3 tournament, so they had t-boxes in the middle of fairways, so groups of up to six players were cutting in front of us on hole one to hit the green on hole ten, nothing made sense on this course. Most holes are dog legs with elevated green which makes it a bit more challenging if you don’t know the course.
Make sure you eat, drink and use the bathroom before you get to the course as they do not have an actual clubhouse. Finally yes, the carts are ancient.
We are confident we will never play this course again..
