Poor staff, crammed course
The course is nice, if you ever get to play all of it.
They didnt tell us there was a youth tourney in the first 5 holes in front of us. Played 4 holes because of them. No starter. Staff is not friendly in the least bit. They don't allow carts after 6pm even though on golfnow it says they are included. BYOB.
Great Design
Excellent course for the money always a good challenge.
Horrible greens
First time playing this course this year but been here a number of times in the past. The greens are in bad shape. For example, on the 8th I ended up hole high with a slick downhiller. After delicately tapping the ball I watched in disbelief as the ball zigzagged toward the hole and eventually went off line. I would not play this course without a hot deal.
greens are fast and true
Just played Rancocas and was thrilled with the condition and how fast the greens were. Never realized they had soo much break before. I hope they keep them that way because RTJ Sr designed the course with that in mind. A wonderful layout with back and front 9's completely different. A must play before summer heat gets the best of the course.
Above average public course.
I usually play here once a week, and on this particular day I was told the greens were recently cut & rolled and were quick, and boy they weren't kidding. It made for a fun and challenging day of putting, but once I dialed in the speed of the greens I was putting lights out. They ran true (had 9 one putts). I highly recommend this course, it's both challenging and fair and the staff is super friendly.
Good features
Played here before. Good challenge, conditions were great, quick greens today.
Enjoyable Sunday
Rancocas is course that is layed out to challenge the intermediate golfer. Two par 4's over water as well as a par 5 on 9 that will either get you pumped for the turn or scratching your head. This dogleg ridden 18 is full of challenges for all levels of golfers. The greens are fast and for the most part are clean minus a few dead areas on a few holes. Speed of the greens I rate a 9, condition of the greens I'd say 7. I'd recomened this course to anyone looking to play something different and would like a challenging cheap 18. Price point 30 and under
Good for early in the season
Due to recent weather conditions, the whole course was "cart path only", which slowed play. You had to walk from the cart to your ball and then back each time before moving on. They were also reseeding the tee boxes and greens. The bunkers were hard, due to rain, and you could not get your club under the ball to get out. The fairways were in good shape. Overall, I enjoyed the round.
nice course
Had an hour plus frost delay - but then it was only 20+ degrees out - course was in great shape for dead of winter - fairways and vreens were clean (and frozen) only complaint was lack of fun is slyness of the staff - they made us feel like we were bothering them by booking such an early tee time - we drove 2 hours to be there and it was definetly worth it
Fun to play
Great course layout that makes you think on ball placement and club selection. double dog leg par 5 was a real treat. greens run true and if you miss the green it is fairly easy to get up and down
winter golf
the course was in good condition for the winter be back soon.
Rancocos
No good, not In good shape if were $10 would be worth it!!
Will Be Back
This was my first time playing the course. I'm a 15 handicap intermediate and my wife is a beginner, but already fairly skillful. I enjoyed the round and found the course, especially the back 9, challenging. The staff was particularly helpful and very pleasant. The course was a bit jammed--turned out it was a half-price day--but everyone seemed patient and understanding. For mid-October, I thought the fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
Good RT Jones Experience
Deceptively difficult, trees and water strategically placed. Somewhat long from middle tees, and too short from forward tees, even for seniors. Great price
Well maintained
Can't beat the quality for the money. Great place to play and opens early with plenty of Tee times.
hanif
The greens are getting a whole lot better. I like what the grounds keeper has done.
Good course for the money
Greens and fairways in good conditions. The course does make you hit different types of shots which is nice. It is a little tight from the tee boxes so you jave to hit a fairly straight ball. Not always a lot of bailout areas. But that is nice and makes it challening. Green speeds are quick which is good and they roll pretty true. Bunkers not in the best of shape but it did rain a few days earlier. The course doeant drain well as 4-5 holes were cart path only when it had rained a few days prior. The Tee boxes need to all be demolised and redone. Hard to find a flat lie to tee off from. That is probably the worst aspect of the course. Which I rather have than bad greens.
Great price for the round
Course in pretty good condition. Carts in great shape. Crew were pleasant
