Brown's Run Country Club

About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Great course, terrible pace of play
Only complaint is when you suck at golf please allow people who don’t to play in front of you. Also for a country club you should never have 5 groups waiting on a hole. Also people suck who don’t repair their divots and greens.
Middletown Magic
Ever since Middletown lost Weatherwax, they’ve need a solid public choice. This was always a great private track and it hasn’t lost much as a public facility. The pace of play wasn’t great, but it a solid value in SW Ohio. Easily a top 10 public course from Dayton to Cincinnati.
Using Garmin golf distance
Great course. They switch front nine with back nine which is fine, however, the course numbering on my Garmin remained the same.
The electronic system attached to Browns run is now backwards. It needs to be switched to correct readings
Great Course
Challenging course with great greens. Biggest challenge is lack of pin placement info.
Resort Quality
Once a private club, Browns Run became a public course over the past few years. They are in the process of building up the amenities and turning it into a destination course. However, they have spared no expense or effort in making the actual track into a professional grade course. The fairways and greens are among the nicest that I have played on, while paying more than $200 for a round at a resort. Currently, the carts are a little outdated and there is not much of a pro shop, but given time and revenue, I can see it being a top of the line within a couple of years. They converted the old "pro shop" into a really nice restaurant with a beautiful out door area. Out of 61 courses played, over the past year, these are the nicest conditions I've experienced.
Solid course
Upon arriving staff joked with me about this course being hard as ****. Upon leaving he checked up on what I thought about it after. It was nice of him to remember. I like environments like this.
Long dog legs and fast greens will do that. But it was a good hard. A good challenge. Was teaching someone and no one had a problem playing through so pace was great. Would definetly recommend
Like the renovations!
My husband and have always enjoyed playing this course. Like the new improvements to the proshop/dinner/bar area and the new back patio. We like the new signage too. Some suggestions would be: 1) They should have sand on the carts to repair divots on greens and fairways. 2) They really need to update the ladies restroom that's upstairs (plus it should be downstairs like the men's). 3) not sure I like the location of checking in at the front entrance, unloading everything there, then parking. I like how other courses have you get the cart first and go to your car to load up.
I do not know if they still have the bar in the main dining area, but we loved going there during happy hour to drink and eat at the bar. We will definitely continue to play here every few weeks.
Great day of Golf
Extremely friendly staff that went out of their way to make it a great round.
