About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Great course, unfortunately had rain delay after 7 holes! Did finish but course pretty wet!
Nice layout
Course was very nice. I wouldn’t recommend playing right after a rain storm. The course doesn’t drain very well, it was very soggy when we played
A must play
Brown’s Run is a favorite of mine. If it was closer, I’d join. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll play it. I love that it’s a classic course in the country that’s really fun to play. No matter which tees you play from, you’ll find it fair and challenging.
Pace of play on the front 9 an issue
I played as a single, which I always know means I will be doing some waiting playing behind people because a single plays faster than a group. I don’t mind waiting, as nobody ever offered to let the single play through haha. However, there was a group on the front 9, I’m guessing when I started they were 3 or 4 holes ahead of me, but there were 7 or 8 people in the group…4 carts. If this was late in the afternoon I’d never complain, but for a morning round this is pretty unacceptable. They slowed pace of play for everyone behind them that morning and I was disappointed. This is way too nice of a course to let that stuff happen. Everything else was beautiful, staff extremely nice! Beautiful place to play golf.
Not worth the money
This owner is desperately trying to make this a country club course for people to hang out but not ply golf. Their focus is in the wrong things. They just added geo- fencing on the carts. It does not work right. Alarms go off continually while your cart is on the path! The sand bunkers are in terrible condition and have been for a while. You are not allowed to drive the cart in the parking lot to unload your clubs. (Silly) The bathrooms are always out of order. The most they should be charging for the course is $55 - $60 per round on a weekend . I won’t go back and recommend you a don’t play either and send this course owner a message.
