Brown's Run Country Club

About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Great Staff
I forget what her name is, but she was the club worker who took care of us around 1:30, she was very polite and sweet!
Ron f
Definitely one of the best courses in the Cincinnati area .From tee to green the best conditioned course I have played . If it was closer to my home I would have a membership .Only suggestion upgrade carts with course GPS screens ..plus cart paths need some work . Great choice of beers and drinks in the bar .
Great shape!
We got a hot deal and it was worth every penny. The conditions were top notch. We have played a number of other courses around here and none compare.
The pro shop has been completely remodeled and is very nice.
Nice layout
Course in good condition. A little slow play on back nine on a sunday afternoon but otherwise very enjoyable.
Course was horribly overbooked.
2 1/2 hours to play just the first 9 holes. Every tee box was backed up with multiple parties. Only ended up playing 16 holes out a of frustration. Course is nice and clubhouse was new but definitely need to work on pace of play particularly at $60 a round.
Hidden gem!
It was a bit of a drive to New Vienna from Cincy. Everyone at the course was super kind and very friendly. Everything was clean.
Course was in amazing condition. The greens are FAST and true, with extremely challenging undulations. Fairways were fair and in great conditions. The rough was perfect in my opinion. Maybe 3.5”-4” tall and thick. Very much a risk/reward course. The first four holes can make or break your round.
Pace of play was on the slow side. It took 5.5 hours to complete our round. This was the worst part of our day on the course. Another down side was that there was only one porta-john on site. That doesn’t bode well for the ladies playing.
We plan on playing again later in the season to get our revenge on the course.
Too pricey for walkers
Nice layout with good conditions. Traps need more sand. Some holes need tree pruning to bring back original design intent of course. Very walkable course but unfortunately non-member walkers are charged a cart fee even though they want to walk. We paid $60 to walk 18 today. Senior rates also not in affect on Fridays. Dynamic pricing supposed to be in affect but we paid regular rate today even though we were only group on course this morning due to temperatures in 40’s and wet conditions. Too many other nice courses in area you can walk for $25-$30 less.
Pro Shop Closed for Remodel -- Pay Inside the Clubhouse/Restaurant
The Pro Shop is currently closed for remodeling, so you have to go into the restaurant to pay.
Downhill
Renovating the pro shop. Closing the restaurant. Cost in February was midsummer $$. Course was sloppy due to weather and they were sending groups off at 7 minutes intervals with cart path only; resulting in very slow play.

Hardyboys60,
We were on winter rates through March 1st. We have 8 minute intervals only on the weekends and with the carts on the path due to the weather, it did make play slow. Come back and revisit to see our improvements!
Changes have been made
So showed up and first of all, they are charging summer rates now as of March 1st. So it was $64 for 18 . The course hadn’t been touched.. bunkers were concrete, etc. I don’t care to pay the higher rates but at least manicure the course. The clubhouse is shut down for remodeling, so you have to go into the restaurant to pay. They ran out of carts. And news flash, the swapped the 9’s.. so #10 is now #1 which is fine but maybe change the signage, people were getting lost and confused. Greens were in good shape.

Jausterman,
We are in transition to make this course on the best in the area. Come back and revisit us and see what we have done this winter!
One of the best in the region
Brown’s Run is a classic course that is challenging, fun and beautiful. The condition of the course was exceptional for February. Fairways and greens were close to peak season making the experience and value impeccable. I can’t wait to come back later this year to see how much better it is during prime time. This is a “must play” for anyone who appreciates a traditional design.

Thank you for the kind comment! We are driven to be the best course around!
A gem
Brown’s Run is a definite must play! The course is a true gem and a ton of fun to play. I can’t wait to take it on again!
Great Course
Brown's Run is one of the best kept secrets in the Region. The course is challenging, fair and a great value. Although it was still winter, it's obvious that they are serious about keeping it pristine. I found the conditions exemplary for February and can't wait to play it during prime weather months later this year.
Our pro shop is open now and we have Ohio's first ever Bourbon Bar inside the pro shop! Come back and visit!
