Golfer Reviews
Goog challenge, this time of the year.
Course is in winter condition, workers working on the greens and some on the back nine had been mowed, rolled much quicker than on the front nine. Weather was very decent for March, not too breezy, enjoyed the company by pairing up with another player, kept pace of play in-sinc. with the group ahead. For early season golf it is in very good condition and I will return very shortly to play again and try to get others to show up also.
Hi Installer!
Thanks for your review on GolfAdvisor/GolfNow. Appreciate you taking the time to share about Cumberland Trail. We hope to see you again, soon.
Cheers
slow greens but recovered from aeration.
The courses bunkers were not maintained for the winter but playing in ohio in december in 60 degree weather was a treat. just took free drop from bunkers and the rest of course was nice.
Fun, Challenging, and Fair
I've played this course a handful of times, and each time was a pleasureable experience...The holes are challenging, but fair...no hidden traps to penalize a good shot..My last round was in mid Nov and the greens were in fine shape for this time of year...This course is a little overpriced (in my opinion) during peak season, but definately worth the money when you can get any kind of a deal...
Hey Daniel, Cindi Cupp here- tee time manager at Cumberland Trail. Looking forward to seeing you again when this dang snow melts! Thanks for the course review on GolfNow!
Excellent course!
For this time of year in Ohio, the course was in excellent condition. The greens ran well and the fairways were nice. The staff was friendly and they even had a nice lunch special for just $4.
Nice condition for fall golf
The course was still recovering from aerification but the greens were still playable. The putts rolled true and were receptive. The fairways were still well kept. An enjoyable day late in the season.
fantastic greens just too large.
This course is over priced as most coursses are today. We played at a Golfnow online reduced fee. Greens are superb but only 4 holes offer a shot makers challenge. fairways and greens are extremely large.
A well designed layout, with fast greens, even after aeration
This course is a delight to play. The greens were very fast, although they were recently "punched". On a few short putts, the ball bounced off line.
There are five sets of tees, so the golfer has a real choice of where to play from. Several of the par threes were very short from the blue tees. Other holes were reasonable lengths from all tee boxes.
Pace of play was good, less than 3 hours on a Monday. In total, the course was a good one, and was one that wouldn't get boring if played frequently.
good course, requires accuarte shot making into greens
I played the course in the middle of October, Greens had be aerated but in good shape. Course made you hit it straight. Big green so you had to be accurate, enjoyed very much, will play again. Dave
Dissapointed - No notice of greens maintenance!!!!
Greens were punched and amazing amounts of sand on greens made round less than enjoyable!!!! Usually the manager or Pro will advise prior to play to assure playability. I think every golfer should know when this type of maintenance occurrs so the can determine whether or not they want to pay to play these conditions.
Beautiful Golf Course
Beautiful golf course and some of the best conditions in town. We played through green aeration, but the putts still rolled true and pretty fast. Probably the only complaint might be the fairway bunkers which need some softening. Very nice layout with several different tees for every skill level.
The course setup is challenging and fun. Enjoyed every hole.
Played the course just after they had aerated the greens, and the greens still rolled well. Each hole will make you think, instead of stepping up and grabbing the driver every time. Great course.
Friendly staff
The staff was great. Even for the $13 I paid for a cart and 18 holes, the staff allowed my wife, who does not play, to ride free of charge. some courses charge because of the low pricing. I will play there again because of their customer based attitude.
Very nice course beautiful layout
Very nice course to play they had just plugged the greens so they were a little sandy but still in great shape. I'll return!
Great Course and Incredible Greens
I'm hesitant to write a review of my actual experiences for fear that next time I'm in Columbus it will be too busy to play but I need to be fair and accurate. This is a beautiful track.
I played this course last week during the President's Cup. They advertise the fastest greens in the area and they're not kidding. We played it on two different days both after heavy rains and the course was well drained and the greens were still very quick. Not overly fast, but I suspect that based on what I saw, they can get them like lightening if they want to.
I will definitely play again
Very nice
From tee to green the course was in great shape. Im not from the area (thank god)(GO PENN STATE!!), so I cant really compare it to others nearby. If Im in the area again I would definitely come back.
Good course for the money
I have played this course a half dozen times this year. It was not in as good of shape as in prevoious visits. The greens were super fast making it almost impossible to stop the ball on down hill putts and they were full of shoe cleat marks which I have not seen in the past. Many sand traps were in need of attention, ie not raked or stoney. Still a very good course.
Course was in great shape. Greens held but also putted at a quick pace.
I enjoyed our round as usual at CT. My only concern was the pace of play on the back nine. We played the front nine in 1 hour 55 minutes but it took 2 hours 50 minutes to play the back. No one on the back nine checking pace of play.
Thanks dp,
Look forward to seeing you in the league this Summer. We are going to have a Summer, aren't we?
