Golfer Reviews
Course was in great shape. Greens held but also putted at a quick pace.
I enjoyed our round as usual at CT. My only concern was the pace of play on the back nine. We played the front nine in 1 hour 55 minutes but it took 2 hours 50 minutes to play the back. No one on the back nine checking pace of play.
Best public course greens in area, play pace terrible!
Love this course, fastest public greens in central Ohio. The staff is great and helpful, but it was hard to find them last Sunday afternoon for both the pro shop and snack area. We had a foursome in front of our threesome that was 2 holes behind by # 5. They finally let us play through on 10 and we were 2 holes in front of them by13. Where's the ranger? It could have been a 6+ hour round w/o the play through. We appreciate Sunday afternoon issues, but a ranger would have been helpful. These weren't new golfers, simply oblivious and lacking manners. They even made a comment to us about the space before the next group when they let us pass.
NICE GREENS AND DIVERSE HOLE LAYOUTS
I enjoy this course every time i come, The course i well laid out and each hole is so different that you never get used to it. Carts always in good shape and clean and has many tee box selections for every skill level. You must play here at least once its one of my favorite courses in ohio.
Pace of play was excellent. Greens were in terrific shape, fast and the balled rolled true.
Cumberland Trail is a great course. I would recommend this course to all of my friends and any golfer going to central Ohio and looking for a good course nearby to play.
Great value.
Not as nice as it once was but still worth a visit.
Overall conditions were good with two exceptions. None of the pins had been changed from the previous day, a HUGE disappointment. I worked in course maint. for almost a decade and cut a thousand cups myself, this is a task that should be expected EVERY DAY without fail. Conditions within a six foot circumference of the hole were atrocious. Many bunkers had tons and tons of rocks, ranging in size from pea gravel to goose-killers. I did notice however that some bunkers had recently had the sand replaced, so I applaud the effort to correct this issue. I know these things aren't cheap and given the state of the golf business at this point you can only do what you can do within your budget constraints. The greens still roll very true and are a highlight of Cumberland Trail, making the lack of decent putting surfaces near the hole only more aggravating. Not enough to keep me away though, I'll hope this is isolated and I'll be back.
Beautiful golf course
Beautiful gold course. The course is always in excellent condition and well maintained. The staff is friendly and price is fair. Easy access off 71. One of the most consistent golf courses in the Columbus area. This is a course that you will add to your "regular play" list once you play it.
Challenging course, bent grass fairways.
There is no sand in most, if not all, bunkers. Sadly, many golfers don't know how to repair a ballmark of replace a divot. Too bad, "cause the greens here have always been great. Need to fix the bunkers.
Completely over booked
Course was in decent shape although inkers were unplayable and hadn't been raked in some time. Starter was not very cordial and to be honest he wasn't nice at all. I was a single and was told by him that he would try to get me out as soon as he had a group with room for one. It thought that I made a specific tee time so that I could insure that? I did get paired up with another single but didn't tee off till about 3:30 which was 15 minutes past my reservation time. Every hole was backed up with atleast the foursome ahead of us and sometimes the four ahead of them. I'd say we waited on average 10-15 minutes on every shot and after 15 holes I couldn't take anymore and went home. It was almost 8:30pm and I still had 3 holes to play. Didn't see any rangers patrolling and it would have been nice to have one speeding up play. When I got to the clubhouse a kid came out and helped me with my bag and I told him how incredibly slow the pace of play was especially for a later tee time on Sunday. The kids apologizes to me and tells me how they double book a lot of tee times and that this is a standard complaint at CT. Needless to say that I was not happy with my experience and I don't think I would ever play CT again even if it was only $20.
Nice course and worth the drive. Good value.
Overall CT is well manicured with true-rolling greens, it was challenging from the yellows (3rd box), and some beautiful holes. I only went to CT because of the deal I received on golfnow, but I would return again. If 1/3 of the course wasn't wrapped around a subdivision I would give it a higher rating; plus the bunkers need sand.
Great greens
The only complaint on this course are the bunkers. Filled with rocks on most holes and other holes have way too much sand in them. Fairways, rough and greens are always in great condition
The course is laid out very nice!
I have played the course before when it was being build much better.
GREAT FAIRWAYS AND GREENS
THE FRONT NINE IS THRU A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT.
VERY WIDE FAIRWAYS.
BACK NINE IS NARROW AND TREE LINED. LIKE PLAYING
2 DIFFERENT COURSES.
Well maintained and challenging enough for all handicaps
After two days of heavy rain the course held up nicely and was in great condition. Most bunkers were wet, some were even flooded, although those were being pumped out as we played. We were fortunate enough to avoid the flooded bunkers. Greens and fairways were soft, but in great condition considering the amount of recent rain. The soft condition just made the course play longer, but since the course was in good shape the softness did not pose any major issues. This is a fun course that poses enough of a challenge for all skill levels and yet under drier conditions, would even be more challenging should your ball bounce or roll off the fairways.
Good course.
Worth the price and close to home. Would golf here regularly
had a good time and enjoyed the course
The staff was friendly, the breakfast sandwich was excellent, and we were allowed to tee off before our tee time. We did follow a 5 some on the back nine but we moved along pretty good. The course was in good shape.
tight landing zones
I enjoyed plating this course. It seems wide open, but as soon as you mishit there is a hazard. I will def go back and play again. evenwith the 45 min drive.
A sand salesman needs to visit this course and sell them some of his product.
A sand salesman needs to visit the course and sell them some of his product for the traps
Fairways and greens were in great condition considering all the rain that occurred this week.
Nice course for the average golfer....some challenging holes while also being fairly forgiving off the tees. Need to do something about the Canada geese on the 17th (?) hole.they completely made a mess of the green as well as the approach area.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience .
The course is well designed
We played 16 holes before the storm coming through. We enjoyed the challenge of this golf course very much.
