Manakiki Golf Course
About
Named after a native American word for maple forest, Manakiki Golf Course's defining feature is the abundance of maple trees that line the winding fairways. The course is a classic Donald Ross design. He incorporated a variety of challenges including tricky doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down holes, and two canyon holes. The holes themselves also cover a range from short to long and tight to open. Golfers should prepare themselves for a bevy of uneven lies, but the dramatic elevation changes also guarantee some scenic views throughout the golf course. There are also sand traps but their placement and number were thoughtfully considered to make Manakiki G.C. challenging but still playable. It is popular for this reason but also because it is one of the best rounds in northeast Ohio you can find for under $50.

Great course
Course is in perfect condition. Aalot of rolling hills. Some water to contend with. Bunkers in fairways and around most greens
Great classic course!
Classic Donald Ross course. The CLE Metroparks have it in great shape and staff was great!
Rough
Rough was high because of wet conditions, I understand that but because there was numerous twosomes behind us always felt rushed. Really hard to find semi plugged balls in high rough. Not everyone hits it down the middle, even 1st cut was high
What a fabulous course!
Manakiki is a great course with a fantastic layout. So many twists & turns with a ton of elavation changes. Very beautiful course. The rough was extremely difficult because the person who cuts it couldn't work on the holiday weekend because he's a union worker, but once it gets cut down a bit, it will be much more fair as far as playability. Also, there isn't a driving range (unless you bring your own balls) so that's a drawback. All in all, it's a must play course!
Pretty course
Course was very nice,, only complaint would be the rough was really high and needed to be mowed. Tight course.
An excellent demonstration of what a public course should be.
Always impressed by the hard work done by the Manakiki crew to keep the course looking great. From the looks of the early rounds this year will be no exception. Pace of play is the only improvement I would ask from the management team. During a busy weekend rounds can slow down - although it is worth saying that this course does not experience the same sudden halt during busy times that I have seen at other public courses! I always recommend my friends check out Manakiki when looking for a track in the area.
Course in fair condition for early season and recent rains. Greens fees are way to high!!!
Greens were slow but that is to be expected. fairways were decent but rough was extremely deep...but again with the rain that is to be somewhat expected. Staff was friendly. Cost to golf there are excessive.
Great Course. One of the best I’ve played
I was pleasantly surprised at this course especially since this is a public course and is part of the Metroparks. I look forward to playing here again. Great layout, great challenge and I love the distinct yardage markers that you don’t always find at every course.
This Gem was nicely polished!
Except for the fact that the greens were cross cut, the course was in fantastic shape! Probably one of the nicest experiences I ever had there! And I worked for Metro parks for two years! It was a pleasure dealing with a staff that knew what they were doing! Unlike some of the other Metroparks I have been on recently, this one was easily the best run and maintained of the bunch!
Manakiki is Classic Donald Ross Design & Awesome!
I try to play here once-a-year, and Manakiki never disappoints. The ClevMetroParks take great care & pride in this signature Donald Ross design. Not a long course, but the long-bombers better have good touch around the greens (or shall we call them table-tops). The staff is always nice, and this day the Starter got my 2some off early, paired with a couple of young guys that had a tough day keeping the ball in front of them & on short grasses. At any rate, great day @ Manakiki.
Great day
My 2nd time here and my hubby's first. We both know why my Dad loved playing here! Course was in very good shape. Love the rolling nature of the course, a blessing and a curse! Very enjoyable. Front was a little slow, but back was well spread out and we moved along very well.
Greens & fairways decent condition. Course green fees are way too high
Greens were very fast. Pace was very slow. Course rates are very high. Their senior rates are much higher than other courses in the area otherwise I would play there more often.
