Casperkill Golf Club
About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

Casperkill on Golf Now
The course was in great condition but the bathroom was locked at 4:20.
Great course
I enjoy playing here, cause in great kept and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great condition
The course was beautifully maintained even for so late in the season. Greens were exceptionally fast even in wet conditions. Holes are laid out nicely such that errant balls rarely have the opportunity to land in another hole’s fairway.
Great design, lots of fun to play. Challenging but not a beat up if you play from the right tees. Good practice facilities, very nice staff. By far, my go to course in the area.
The price, pace, and course add up to a great value!
Casperkill is a hidden gem of a course. It's fairly priced at peak weekend times and a steal during the week or twilight. The course has a great mix of long and short holes and it's a fair test for mid to high handicappers from the white tees or better golfers from the blues. The greens are on the soft side, so approach shots hold even during droughts. The greens are rarely fast, but they have enough undulation to make them challenging, but never unfair.
There are several great holes on this course, with the Casperkill brook coming into play on many and towering oaks the main hazard on others. The 9th is the old bad hole on the golf course, it's routing was clearly a compromise to get the turn back near the clubhouse.
The facilities include a full length driving range, putting green and short game practice area.
The only cons at Casperkill are inconsistent sand, goose crap and the dark and uninviting 19th hole.
Good Value
*Rental Clubs should be updated (it was ancient for my quest; he eventually used my clubs).
*Usually revisits once a month even though its an hour away.
*The course retains too much water.
great condition....however....
Tee to green, the course conditions were excellent. However, the staff member in charge of changing the pin locations could benefit from a training from the MGA/USGA. At least 12 or 13 cups were on side hills and a few were even on a double break portion of the green. The course itself is a good challenge, the pin locations should not alter a scorecard by 5 to7 strokes. This would not hinder me from returning, but a repeat of those pins would make it my last visit for a long while. Too many great courses around ....

I was very disappointed to find out that Golf Now did not offer a deal at Casperkill with a cart included. It cost an extra $20 for the cart in addition to the Golf Now price.
