About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

Sunday afternoon round
First time I played the course in a few years. Not in the best of shape. A lot of dry hard areas and tons, I mean tons, of geese poop all over the course. Especially the greens. The most upsetting part of the day though was the lack of communication in the pro shop regarding use of the cart. I paid a walking rate for 5 o’clock using Golfnow. When we got to the pro shop I asked if we could get a riding cart and the guy in the shop said yes and we paid for the cart. When we got to the 11th T a kid that worked at the course pulled up in another car and told us that we were only allowed to use the cart for nine holes. This was not explained in the pro shop. So we paid $30 to use a cart for nine holes. It would’ve been nice if this was explained to us before we started playing around. I’m not sure if I willreturn. I did not appreciate the fact that the kid who told us we can only have it for nine holes, really could care less.
Always solid
I wouldn't put this course on the same level of places like Pound Ridge, Mansion Ridge, or The Links at Unionvale, but it's still a great course to play. If those courses are 5's, Casperkill is a solid 4. It's always a great time playing it, and a fun challenge. One of my favorite courses to keep coming back to. A few tee boxes were beat up (2 or 3 tee boxes) and bunkers were a little wet, but other than that, no complaints. Fairways were good, greens were good. Pace of place was great for a weekend. One thing about this course, is that the conditions are consistent. I just missed a hole in one on #8 by about an inch and I also almost killed someone with an errant 3 wood. So all in all, a great time.
Good Value
*We played in under 3 and 1/2 hours.
*Beverage Cart was out late (we were on the 14th hole.).
* Greens were very slow
Tee time refused, need a refund, no way to contact GolfNow other than review
The pro shop at Casperkill refused the tee time, saying GolfNow was not authorized to sell it... and had already alerted GolfNow to the situation. I tried to find a way to contact GolfNow, this seems to be the only option. I NEED A REFUND!
By the way, Casperkill was sympathetic and did find a way to accommodate us. We did however have to pay again.

Outstanding
Course is in great shape. Fantastic layout. Still a favorite.
Still Green and lush
Course is in great condition. Not burnt out. Greens were really receptive to approach shots. Could’ve been a tad faster.
Golnow is getting worse
Paid online booking fee for the course plus an additional charge. Coutse calls me and tells me Golfnow made an error and the tee time was unavailable. Tried calling oland getting in touch with them via phone and or email and they make it impossible. I am still owed money and will not go away. Review not done yet. I book another course through Golfnow. We get there and they tell me Golfnow made an error and the tee time in unavailable. We drive an hour to play. The pro shop was nice enough to let us out. GOLFNOW.....YOU ARE HORRIBLE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, BECOME CUSTOMWR FRIENDLY AND MOST OF ALL.....STOP BEING SO GREEDY AND ABOUT MONEY. CUSTOMER FIRST....REMEMBER??? Yes, I'm angry

Great course no matter your skill level
Played mid-afternoon on Fourth of July, nice course layout. Tee boxes could use a little attention but the greens and fairways were in good shape. It's a long course with lots of hills, would definitely recommend a cart on a hot day.
Great Layout
The course has a great layout but there greens are always slow. The course also gets soaked super easy and it seems like they have no drainage. One of my favorite layouts that is very gettable. If they could take care of this place the way McCann down the road does, they would have one of the nicest courses around. For how much you pay you are better off going down the road to play the municipal course.

No complaints
Everything was great, can’t wait to go back soon, bar and restaurant we’re close but they have a beverage and snack cart out.
