About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

A few holes Casperkilled my round
My big thing for any course I play, is the conditions. So...
Tees - 3.5
Fairways 3.5

Good course overall. I've played this course a lot over the years. Never disappointing. Not in your high-end level of public courses, but definitely well above your low-end level of public courses. Falls right about in the middle. Greens were a little slow on Sunday, but were smooth and in good shape. Very few pitch marks. I'd recommend this course if you've never played it. Some really great/pretty holes. Some mediocre holes. Fun and challenging.
Too long of a round
I booked a 320pm reservation and when we got there we found out there was an outing and they were wedging us in between two foursomes on hole 15. Teen we had golfers who started yelling at us calling us a holes from afar. When they got closer on hole 17, they asked a ranger how we got on the course in the middle of a outing and I told them we booked online. They were ticked but apologized fir calling us a holes . Terrible experience.

The course was in reasonable shape however the greens were painfully slow and inconsistent.

Love course great value and greens are in great condition
Perfect Weather
Course is always in great condition. The two groups in front of us were a bit slow. We tend to play fast. Would of been nice to play through. There was no one in front of them.

The course is in pretty good shape, but the greens are somewhat slow. What detracted from the round was it was cart path only.
Great course in terrific shape
I was more than pleased with the quality of the course, the condition of the (very tough) greens, and the professilnallism of all staff I encountered.

Great Round
Perfect pace, never held up. Played on a Friday. Course was mostly dry, but it was cart path only. Course has a nice layout and Greens and Fairways are fairly well maintained. Greens were a bit slow.
Great Round
Course is in top shape, greens well maintained and quite fast. Came as a single and was happy with the regulars I played with. Will play Casperkill again.

Heavy rain and thunder. Called Golf Now and got a credit.

It is wet for mid April but there are some interesting holes
No starter and not much service for now. Course was still quite wet and there are some interesting holes. Number 2 and 3. Green on 4 is unfair and there some easy holes and the 7th is a great hole. Pretty forgiving golf course but still some fun to be had. Green fee includes some discounts on lunch in the clubhouse. Good local hangout

Great late season condition
1 PM Sunday prime time tee off. A weekend round in 3 1/2 hours! The greens and fairways were in great shape. Tee boxes understandably used heavily, but fine shape. Very enjoyable round. Appreciated that a marshal was on the course helping to keep things going at a good pace. Keep up the good work Casperkill!
Course in nice condition. Was a bit wet, tho we've seen a lot of rain of late. Was early in the day so barely anyone was out there. Starter was super nice. Cruised thru the course in 3.5 hrs (2 of us). Greens are a bit softer and slower than i'm used to, but with the slopes it made them quite challenging. Nice lay-out. You find yourself using most of your clubs. Only odd thing about the course is the par 3's are all basically the same distance. Wouldn't call that a negative tho. Def recommend!
