About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

Fairly Open Layout
The course is fairly open on most holes and you can recover from bad shots.
Greens rolling perfectly
Course is in flawless condition at the moment. Pace of play was great. You won’t be disappointed
The golf course is in excellent condition. I've played there several times & enjoy the challenge.
Good Time
The course was in excellent condition and was a lot of fun to play. It gives the average player a chance to score well yet it is challenging.

A Great Layout
The course was in excellent condition. The fairways were in the best condition they have been all season. The course is always a challenge to play, a good mixture of difficulty of the holes.
Very fair but challenging course.
Really enjoyed playing Casperkill. The holes were all individually unique and each presented their own challenge. The pace of play was great for a 9:20 sat round. Conditions were very good. I wouldn’t call the greens terribly slow like the rest of the comments. But not lighting fast. Would recommend playing this course, and if course it’s a Robert Trent Jones Sr. Design so that adds to the beauty of playing a round at Casperkill.

Slow Greens`
The greens were still slow and bumpy but the course was in good condition. The new carts with the new GPS was great!

My big thing for any course I play, is the conditions. So...

Good course overall. I've played this course a lot over the years. Never disappointing. Not in your high-end level of public courses, but definitely well above your low-end level of public courses. Falls right about in the middle. Greens were a little slow on Sunday, but were smooth and in good shape. Very few pitch marks. I'd recommend this course if you've never played it. Some really great/pretty holes. Some mediocre holes. Fun and challenging.
Too long of a round
I booked a 320pm reservation and when we got there we found out there was an outing and they were wedging us in between two foursomes on hole 15. Teen we had golfers who started yelling at us calling us a holes from afar. When they got closer on hole 17, they asked a ranger how we got on the course in the middle of a outing and I told them we booked online. They were ticked but apologized fir calling us a holes . Terrible experience.

The course was in reasonable shape however the greens were painfully slow and inconsistent.
