Casperkill Golf Club
About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

Excellent maintenance
It is a challenging course.
Fairways and bunkers were well maintained.
It was fun 4hour playing.
One of the best valued course I have ever played.
Exceptional value
One of the best golfnow.com courses we have played to date.
Casperkill golf
Worth the money. Good course and well maintained. You will not be disappointed.
Challenging
Course was in good shape and as challenging as ever.
Course is fun to play
Fun course.
Well maintained
Greens were a little slow
Fairways were cut well
Rough was at a good height
Challenging but not crazy difficult
The course was in great shape. The greens are in excellent condition. Hope they can maintain the condition through out the year!
Price point
Good course but a little steep on price. Their are other courses just as nice in the area that are 30 dollars cheaper.
Great local Challenge
Casperkill is my second local course. A decent value for your money, since lunch is included. It is challenging at times but overall a decent course for slightly above beginners.
Local to POK and Route 9.
Course was in great shape. Wonderful fall golf!
The course was in great shape; very enjoyable autumn golf at a perfectly maintained course.
Greens are still not recovered from summer weather.
Many of the greens that were lost to the summer weather have still not recovered. Grass was very long on fairways and greens. The hole locations do not look as if they had been changed in a week (we played on a Saturday). But this may be due to the limited locations available on the damaged greens.
One of the best local public courses.
Greens were some of the best I've seen this season. Course is in good condition. The pace was quick but did not feel pushed. Staff is friendly and restaurant makes a great burger.
Very nice course.
Enjoyed playing there, nice carts , Hope it stays open.
poor greens
i have played at this course many times over the years. i look forward to play this track. this time i was very disappointed. i know they must punch holes in the greens every year. but i feel they should let you know before hand or post it. the greens were very poor. two months ago i played casper kill and it was awesome!!! I dont get to play with a busy schedule. I guess i need to join a private club again.
Course has seen better days!
I must admit and I'm really disappointed to say, but this course is in horrible condition! That recent dry spell really did a number on it. I played there many times earlier in the season and it was the best I seen it in years. Now there are two temporary greens and extensive damage to fairways, fringes and greens. You might want to look elsewhere!
Course was great, staff was very professional.
Greens Fee was cheaper than advertised and included lunch.
Will be back
The greens were very nice condition! I little slow for my standards but with all the rain I understand . The GPS was a great system, lunch was included and I definitely will play there again!
Nice track and and will go back. I recommend this course to all!
Course very slow
Conditions were deemed super wet and cart path only by staff. Starter was also only ranger. Rude, discourteous at best. Even when groups were behind, felt that he could do nothing and didn't even care about pace of play.
Also, course has no provision for handicapped to play. Starter stated that if handicapped needs assistance they shouldn't play golf but do something else.
Course bunkers need sand, in some cases just barely covering dirt. Yes, they were wet and hard, but still almost no sand in bottom of several.
course good but wait was to long
as always pace of play was long and only played 10 holes due to waiting for 40 minutes between 10 and 11 so we left again and did not get in the full 18 people have to know how far they hit the ball and play from the right tee's
Enjoyable
The course was in great condition for the amount of rain that has fallen in the NE. Cart Path's Only, and we were able to complete play on a bit over 3 1/2 hours.
Played middle (white) tees, but the course played longer due to the wetness.
A definate replay for the value in this area.
