About
Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie is situated in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands, surrounded by acres of lush, rolling countryside. The course wanders through stands of towering oak trees and circles a few tranquil ponds before moving along the banks of its namesake creek. The gently rolling hills provide the course with elevated tees and terraced greens. Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1944. He created a traditional layout that fully utilizes all of the features of the scenic terrain. The course finishes with a player-friendly hole that offers a great opportunity for a birdie. There is a bunker in front of the green but if played smartly as a three-shot hole, golfers will be generously rewarded. In addition to the golf course, Casperkill also offers a driving range with multiple target greens and a large practice putting green with a chipping and bunker area.

Good course
Got paired up with a guy and his girlfriend who was a beginner literally as we were about to tee off. Another twosome behind us they could have paired them with. That’s my only gripe. Carts are nice. Course is still in decent shape even with the time of year and drought we’ve been in. Like this course a lot
Better Options In Area
Casperkill has one good, actually great golf hole. It’s hole 11. Gorgeous golf hole.
All of the course needs tree removal, and tree trimming. Needs better identification of rough to fairway cut. Some tee box locations don’t make sense.
Better options - Apple Greens. Links At Union Vale.

The course was definitely challenging and the greens were true and in great shape. Staff was friendly and I look forward to my next visit.
Challenging but fair
In the best condition I have seen in years. Great greens and fairways and the rough was cut to a manageable height.
You get what you pay for
I picked up a 2 spot hot deal for $50 and that's what this course is worth. It was not worth the additional $40 for the cart. I play courses that are 3x more expensive and don't pay that much for the cart. You can't drive to the range. The GPS in the cart did not work the entire front 9, The pace of play was good until we caught up with a 4 some of 50 year old guys who were basically drunk and obnoxious. I even had to intervene when they were making the cart girl uncomfortable. There was no ranger at all the entire day. At times, we had 2 other groups behind us waiting. The course has a few nice holes, but most of the tee boxes had weeds. It was not worth the hour plus drive from New Jersey and was not worth the $90. I won't be coming back, No Thanks.
