Had fun
Beautiful day. Had a fun round. Very hilly. Definitely take a cart if your old and out of shape like me.
Late March on nice course in eastern Cascades
course is pretty clean from litter, spring fairways are in and improving from snow mold, greens are improving with some aeration holes presenting bumpy ride, sand is fine, tee boxes are fine, could use drinking water.
A Decent Course
River's Edge is a fairly challenging course as it is set on the side of Awbrey Butte so many of the fairways have a side slope. This, plus lots of trees place a premium on shot placement. Trying to overpower this course can cost you shots.
Overall it's a fun course that is right in the middle of Bend and easy to get to,
Beautiful course
Beautiful course, but staff insisted that we had to wait for our tee time because we were to be matched with another couple who had a golf now tee time even though nobody had tted off for a while and then had to wave on three singles that were lined up behind us on the course?
Great course with amazing staff!
This was the first time I golfed here and will go here anytime I'm in Bend from now on! The course was a lot of fun and challenging but I think the best part was the friendly and helpful staff in the clubhouse. Golf course clubhouse staff are notorious for being pretentious, and act as if the customer paying close to 100 dollars for a round of golf are a hassle and are lucky to play on their course. Not at this course. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If you want to go play at a really nice course, and have a good time from the second you step in the door, I would recommend this course!
Bend Oregon Treat. Rivers Edge
Fun course to play. Target golf. Greens in fantastic shape. And writing the golf cours fun course to play. Target golf. Greens in fantastic shape. And riding the golf boatds was absolutely fantastic
One of my Bend Favs
This is one of favorite courses in the Bend area and probably the best for the money. I always try to play this course when I get down there.
Been awhile...
Overall the fairways and greens are in as good of condition as I have seen on this course in a while. Have not played the course much since 2011, due to injury. The issue is the lack of flat, level, suiltable teeing surfaces, on a variety of tee boxes...fine for guys, with conscious awareness to tee on either side of an unavoidable hump on the teeing surfaces for moving the ball one direction or the other on purpose...but a bumber for those standing 2-3" below the ball and end up hitting 6" behind the ball for those without that perception...or on the other side without knowledge of slope, etc.
If you lucky enough to not have the pro-shop send walkers or others out at the turn, between you and the former group in front of you and can keep your ball on the course as a part of your regular ability...there are fewer course more fun and challenging.
HOT ROUND
This golf course is not my favorite. It is on the side of a hill in town. Having said that the course was in great shape and played fairly well. I have been playing this course since it was only a 9 hole course back in the late 80's. Opening hole is fun and down hill and around a corner. The whole fairway funnels into the green. The 16th hole is a drop about 200 yards from the tee box and fun to watch. I would not suggest walking this course. The course now offers golf boards, which if you haven't tried are awesome.
Nicely challenging!!
Great course to play if you live in Bend or are just visiting. Would recommend a cart as it is hilly - from the green on 8 through to tee on 12 is basically all up hill! Hole 6 has a tricky water feature right in front of the green. Nice wide fairways allow for the occasion errant drive!!
great local course
I've played this course 4-5 times since moving to Bend over a year ago - always walked. The course is challenging enough for me, especially when walking as it is quite hilly. I find the course in very good shape and the staff very friendly, and would recommend it to a friend.
Challenging small greens
The greens a small and makes you hit a quality second shot into the greens.
Beautiful Course
The course was beautiful and offered many views of Bend. Our complaint was the attitude of the staff. We ended up arriving early and since it wasn't because we asked if it would be a problem if we teed off early. He started to say it would be fine but then said no we couldn't because we had "those" rates, referring to our golfnow green fees. No one teed off in the 40 minutes we waited. Seemed rude when you are trying to get people to like your golf course and they will come back and pay full price at some other time.
G
Great course - lots of up and down?
Walking is somewhat difficult for the over 50 folks
Great value
The course is in excellent condition. It has spectacular views and is challenging for all levels of golf . The hillside setting gives this course an edge over many of the courses in the area All staff and encountered were friendly and courteous
A must play when you're in the Bend, Oregon area
Greens need improvement
Challenging course with great views but greens are very spotty with a fungus/mold so not the best. Fairways in great shape so the golf experience was very good despite issue with putting greens
love it
One of my favorite courses in the Bend area. Play it every time I come to Sunriver. Love the elevation changes and the unique scenery. A few hard holes but overall not too hard for this high handicapper.
go. play. it. now.
visiting daughter in bend...we played...from the very 1st hole you are hurled into a world of sight and sound...a dimension of golf so unusual and visually appealing...do not adjust the loft on your clubs...you have entered: the twilight rate zone!
ok, that was stupid. this course immediately became our top 5 favorite! it's exciting to stand on the tee, look down, and be blown away by what lies before you! and every single hole is a compelling flight into golf fantasy! there is not a single boring hole on this course! even #10, which is a straight ahead, uphill adventure with no trees, was awesome!
the staff was really down to earth, very helpful, chatted briefly, directed us to the range, putting area, 1st tee, etc...all the things a 1st-timer needs to know...
club rentals were nike, which i selected, and some off-brand called titleist, or something like that. lol
what a staff. what a course. do yourself a big favor. if you are ever in the bend area. get on this course!
oh yeah...almost aced #14, a 150yd par 3...which only added to the excitement of the layout...
Golf Digest is right!
This course was amazing! Definitely worth playing! We were paired up with people who played it before and they helped a lot, but all in all, it's an awesome course.
