Rivers Edge
Golfing was great - pace of play was slow waited at every tee box - Marshall did not address the problem - Challenging course allot of blind shots - overall had a fun round just frustrating waiting on a 3 some non stop
Locals only
Also played begin a group of six locals with a number of them not able to play golf at all . Five and a half hour round . Have call into GM but no call back yet . Overall condition of course average at best and not worth the price compared to other similar courses in Bend .
Locals Only
I would not recommend this course for those visiting Bend for a golf outing. Three holes in and we came up behind a 7-some! Obviously a group of local, non-serious golfers. We skipped that hole and caught up to a 6-some on hole nine. We were able to get to ten and in front of them while they were screwing around. Tee blocks were pretty rough. Lots of funky and sloping fairways, elevation changes and non-traditional layouts. Restaurant and bar totally inadequate.
Perfect day in Central Oregon.
Clear blue sky day with perfect condition Greens. Fairway’s were in good condition with your occasional dry patches which is par for all courses this time of year in Central Oregon. Staff was great and the pace of play was smooth. Challenging course to play and walk. No wimps allowed. I have a blast every time.
Much Improved?
Much better than reviews suggest. Decent condition, great layout, friendly and accommodating staff (Chad).
I thought it a bit pricey, but apparently in line with the local market.
This could be a beautiful course
The course had poor tee boxes (not level with to many bare spots)
Course layout was awesome but the greens had large bare spots also.
We ordered a simple hot dog for two of us and they had to use hamburger buns because they ran out of hot dog buns. $30 dollars for hotdogs and one adult beverage, really.
The pro shop had no regard for our twosome as they let 3 juveniles play out of one bag while walking and had them tee it up with us.
Over all course has great potential, but I won't be back.
highly entertaining
one will find it hard to find a course with holes that surprise one right after another.
its been in better shape but still found it entertaining...will i go again? sure, one does not find a layout like this everyday. hope they're able to improve the maintenance. this place is a classic.
Not Worth The Money
This course just isn’t worth what they charge. There re a number of nicer courses in the area that may be a little more money but worth it. This course is dried out, greens are OK, tee boxes need a lot of work & rodents are everywhere.
Needs a lot of work
Management is putting capital into this course but in the wrong places. Instead of installing Track Man at the range for example, they should be improving the course conditions. Beat up tee boxes, rodents everywhere, dried out fairways, etc. They charge way to much for what you get here. There are many, much better courses in the area for a similar price.
Course conditions were fair
Being early summer in central oregon, I would expect the course would have its best chance of being in good condition. Fairways frequently have dead areas all over the main landing areas, some greens played well but there were dead spots on many of them and every sand trap was very dense and showed no signs of ever being raked.
Mean pin placements for Sunday play
The course itself is in pretty decent shape. The greens were heavily sanded but still rolled fairly well. Pretty bumpy. Also had some really crazy pin placements for Sunday golfers. I can count at least 4 holes that were set up against you just by pin placement. Fairways ahead some pretty good sized dead spots. I always play that as ground under repair anyways. But for 60 dollars being the deal and 80-90 being without the deal I’d be upset for sure. But all in all course is in pretty good shape just not for what you’re paying for. Maybe I’m just stuck in 2007.
Bend Rivers Edge play for late Hune Gen.
Course was in fine condition. Greens rolled pretty smooth (11-12), recovered pretty well from spot fungus and a little hard but easy to get used to. Fairways groomed nicely. A couple of sand bunkers needed screening but overall ok.
