Mountain View Golf Club
About
Mountain View Golf Course is located half way between downtown Portland and Mt. Hood in Boring, Oregon. This 18-hole course stretches for 5,926 yards from the blue tees and is an excellent course for those of you who are looking for a challenge. Rolling fairways lined with trees and greens with well-placed bunkers await the unprepared golfer.
The biggest attraction at the course is signature hole #12. This is one of the most unique holes in the Portland area. It's 184 yards from the blue tees and 180 feet down (that's almost 18 stories). If you would normally use a 4 or 5 iron for 184 yards, you better switch to an 8 or 9 on this one. Check out the hole in our photo gallery and then call for a tee time.

Great Value Course
Friendly staff
Recommend on using a golf cart - lots of hills
Greens, Bunkers, Fairway and Tee box are in great shape
Crazy 12 - Signature hole on 12th
Always love this course. Dry fairways but greens is very good shape.
Its a great price for golfnow.com. Grandson loves the course.
Great Value
Had a few friends in from Texas and thought this would be an exciting course to play with great views and a fun par 3 12th hole. We like it so much that we played again 36 holes in one day super time great staff.
many unique holes
had a great time, needed cart as course is mountainous
Fun little course.
Greens were in good condition. Blue tees were somewhat challenging. Not sure if yardages were correct. Gps said one thing and signs and yardage markers consistently said a longer yardage. Over all it was a fun and fast round.
The 12th is to die for !
Fantastic bargain for a well maintained course with excellent and challenging greens. The old growth trees are gorgeous and the course offers terrific variation. You won't believe the 12th hole. It is a 148 yd 3 par that drops hundreds of feet from tee to green. I can't wait to golf there again.
The 12th hole is worth the price of the round.
The course was not crowded and we were able to play a round in about 4 hours. It is a very traditional layout , but the par 3 12th hole is spectacular. It has an "really elevated" tee looking down to a tight multitiered green with bunkers. Don't forget to ask at the pro shop what distance the hole is playing that day. From the tees you would almost think you could throw a ball to the green, but the carry was over 150 yards. Enjoy!!
Hole 12 is the draw here. Spectacular
First played here 25 or more years ago. Redo of green 11 is the only noticeable update. Fairways still extremely bumpy. Need to redirect green side sprinklers away from bunkers. Sand very wet and ungroomed. Not a very good value for what they now charge.
Seems money is still going to the "newer" clubhouse.
Fun course but needs some help
Given the conditions of the carts and cart paths, they should offer a free visit to a chiropractor with each green fee. I was given a cart that had not been cleaned and the second one had not been cleaned as well. Did not have time to go get #3.
A very hot day with no water on the course.
Great staff and with a little money, this could be an above average course.
played with nice guy fun day
i love to play golf had a very good day
thank you

Fantastic test for pros and joes
This course is challenging and always in great condition. The greens are fast and smooth giving you a true roll but with all the subtle break, this course could challenge even the best putters. If you can put well here you can put any where
Only problem was all the rain, but that is not the courses fault.
Very lovely day but too much rain. There was one green that had so much water on it you almost had to chip the ball into the hole.
Not many people on course.
Overall the course is nice. But if you leave something on the course it seems to not get turned in.
Course has an awesome par three (12th) hole.
The starter was friendly and courteous. The course was in good shape especially the greens.
The pace of play was good given it is a heavily played course.
If the course is maintained in the condition I played it in, I would recommend it to other golfers.
course are in good shape
course in good shape. Course maintainance person ran weed eater machine while we trying to putt on green.
I enjoy every moment
Hole number eleven is beautiful and fun, but watch out. It's a 172 yard par three. The green must be 100 feet below in the canyon with a creek behind it. I hit my 7iorn into the creek, then teed off with my PW and stuck the green. Good luck
Good/fun course!
Greens were in great shape and challenging, great roll. Fairways are very bumpy which is what it is...great value for course. #12 tee is crazy, good luck!
Great course for a last minute round. Found the tee time I wanted less that a week before booking.
The staff at the pro shop and coffee shop were very friendly. Check in was painless and we actually got out 10 minutes before our scheduled tee time. Anytime you can play a round under 4 hours on a weekday morning is definitely a plus. The course was in very good condition also.
Windy with debris
The course is fun as always, but the greens and fairways had tons of debris due to the wind that we were experiencing. Some of the putting surfaces were almost unputtable without sweeping the pine cones and other debris off with your hand. Otherwise always an enjoyable day at Mtn View
