Risk reward all around
The East Course at Glendoveer has more than a few drivable par 4s. It's obviously a theme. There are many risk reward opportunities throughout the round. The course is hilly which presents another challenge. I think it plays a bit into how you play.
I had a 1:15 tee time. Got there at 1:10. The pro shop helped me by letting me store a few extra clubs behind the counter and putting my name on them. Nice touch. Before going to the pro shop, I talked to the starter. Had my name on the list. Another nice touch.
We were a threesome behind three foursomes. There was some waiting but we got done in just a bit less than five hours. Fine for a muni on a Friday. Didn't need to use them, but there are many bathrooms located around the course.
Playing tip: practice your bunker shots. There are many. They are big. You'll probably land in a few.
Don’t play here
I’m a 7 handicap, I play in a men’s club in Vancouver and I play about 100 plus rounds at about 13 different local courses and this one is the worst. Greens are over watered, slow and bumpy, fairway grass is thin with a firm mud beneath, I hit 12 fairways and not one decent lie, my lies in the first cut were better. If you have a putt more than 5 ft it’s pure luck if you make it with all the bumps.
Muggy Thursday
Thanks to the weather and grounds keeping staff the course is in fantastic condition. The starter was friendly and helpful. Great value!
Course
This course is always well taken care of,the ground crew here do a AWESOME! Job keeping up with maintaining of this course, I just wish I lived closer to play it more, But I'm coming from Tillamook, but it is always worth the drive when we do go. Hope you all get a chance to play here & enjoy it as much as we do. Good Luck!
Rock-hard greens and bunch of hard-pan area's but overall not bad and pace of play was good. Good value if you can get it for a big discount on Golf Now
Up and Down, Those are some Big Trees
Played the East course at Glendoveer. Overall for this time of year the course was in pretty good shape. Took a cart and was able to drive on the fairways.. Greens were pretty good, rolled well..
Big trees and severe up and down par 5's. Good value and will play again.
The East
Great golf course. In good shape. greens were great shape for the amount of rain we have had.
This a great hilly course
This a great hilly course with all fairways lined with trees.
Overcrowded back 9
The front nine when fine for pace of play got started a little early and then for some reason the idiot starter put a group of 6 walkers right in front of our 2 some and then had us wait. Starting a big group on the back nine is complete garbage people don’t pay money to watch a group of 6 play and take mulligans on top of that
18 holes
Great pace of play. Was about a three hour round.
Because they were not too busy that day they even let me go out there and hour earlier than my teatime was scheduled. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for any more hot deals will go back there as soon as possible
