Great afternoon
This was our first time on this course and we had a great afternoon. We only play a few times a year so most courses are a challenge. However, we were not pressured by staff or other players. These fairways are wide, there is very little water and we enjoyed every minute. Beautiful surroundings.
Interesting Muni
First time playing golf course so I didn't know what to expect. The layout crosses a "ridge" for the lack of a better term. It has some really good par 3's at 225/190/180 and then you get funky driveable par 4's at 270-310... Greens were in good shape, but overall conditions very average. It was a bit wet considering all the nice weather we had lately. They would be smart to pull out some trees to open up greens and tees so grass would grow better. Good value for the $25 all you can play on GolfNow.
Longer playing course
The course is in great shape and would recommend anyone who wants to play a longer game. The golf carts are in good shape as well if walking isn't your thing, with a restaurant and snack bar close by.
Play your own risk
I've worked in the golf industry and played tournament golf. Played many types of courses and conditions. When I played the course it was just under the 2 week mark of them aerating the greens. The greens were decent but I have to question the super. In my many years of playing these greens are by far consistently the worse greens I've played. Granted this course gets plenty of play but these greens aren't good. I have friends that are average golfers that complain about this every time they play. It has become a "last resort" course. And the west course isn't much better but it's a good course for beginners and seniors but it is highly over priced. I will never play full price to play there again. I feel the new ownership isn't worried about the quality of the course jus the quantity of players. It's a shame too I really love the layout of the course. Also they need to have a marshall to help pace of play. You should play in 4 and a half or less.
perfect golf day
sunny & beautiful day to be golfing with my son
Course was not ready for play.
Would of been nice to know that they just plugged the fairways as well as plugged and sanded the greens. The fairways were not cut to length through the first nine hole. So much sand was left on the green that there was no true roll.
Death march
I anticipated poor conditions because it has been rainy lately. I anticipated an opportunity to rent a cart as I am borderline handicapped and the course is extremely hilly. They were not allowing carts due to the conditions. I could not get a refund because the course was not closed. I had to rent a pull cart and trudge up and down the hills in the mud.
Course Condition
I have played this course several times, over the years. Taking in consideration, the time of year, recent weather conditions and temperatures, the ground keepers had the couse in very playable condition. Thank You, had a great afternoon.
Hilly
I would recommend riding for the first timers playing here, good course, pace is good, constant runners or joggers outer edge of course. Did not bother me though.
If you love trees!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love playing this course because of the beautiful trees lining most of the fairways, which are relatively wide. The course itself was in OK condition; but, the greens were actually in very good condition for the amount of traffic the course gets. Would definitely play it again.
Next is East
West course was in great shape. We got a little bogged by the football golfers that jumped us but after the turn opened right up. Happy to have played it.
Course in great shape
Course is hilly and will give walkers a workout. Fairways and tees were in great shape compared to the City of Portland courses. Greens had been punched and sanded but were coming back nicely.
Clean comfortable course
very happy with the course conditions. Excellent straight fairways easy to drive. The East course has a nasty 350+ par 3 though
Urban Gem
Lovely views on the back nine overcome the street noise and clutter on the front. Wide fairways, generous first cut, trees are limbed up. Not well marked for standard yardage, distance numbers on sprinklers are few and far between. If you don't stop at Ringside Grill after your round you will miss the point of playing this course.
Always a great time
Always enjoying playing both East and West courses. Play organ.
Great Times
I had a wonderful time as usual. I will be back to play soon.
Glendoveer East
I brought my colleague out to play, and chose Glendoveer for its central location. I started off by checking in with their top-notch Director of Instruction, Aaron Johnson, at the driving range before going out to play. The greens were great- soft enough to hold shots, but also reasonably fast and true. For all the hot weather, the course was in great shape. Best of all, we played all 18 holes in less than 4 hours, despite my colleague's difficulties (many years of layoff + borrowed women's clubs=lots of laughs). Way to go, Glendoveer! I will be back!
challenging course - with hills!
Good course, we played the East course - the friendly staff switched us from West to East at our request. The East is more challenging than West. There are lots of hills so be prepared for that. Many holes can't be seen from the tee box, nor from your 2nd shot if you don't hit over 300-yard drives. The sand traps had a bit of a hard bottom which made them tricky. The pace slowed way up around the 5th hole, but the staff warned us about that and said they were doing everything to move it along - the folks playing behind us said they play this course often, and today was the slowest it has been for them. Definitely worth it if hills aren't a problem for you!
Great value
Great course for the value. Condition is good and pace is usually good.
