Overcrowded back 9
The front nine when fine for pace of play got started a little early and then for some reason the idiot starter put a group of 6 walkers right in front of our 2 some and then had us wait. Starting a big group on the back nine is complete garbage people don’t pay money to watch a group of 6 play and take mulligans on top of that
18 holes
Great pace of play. Was about a three hour round.
Because they were not too busy that day they even let me go out there and hour earlier than my teatime was scheduled. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for any more hot deals will go back there as soon as possible
Nice course!
I really like this place.I like the tough up and down hills a lot. The course condition is great! I went there on a Friday noon. There were not lots of people.
Playing alone
To my surprise I was alone and rarely saw another person. The course is in great late summer condition and I will be back next week.
Great course
was able to get 18 holes in in under 4hrs pace was great. Plus there is plenty of restrooms.
Pretty Good Course -- but SLOW
For a public owned course, this is in very good condition. The power carts are relatively new and in good shape and well cared for. Greens were a bit slow for my taste, but well conditioned and fair. I like having reachable par 4's (under 350 yards) which allows for pars for a 20+ handicapper.
The main problem with this course today -- and historically -- is the very slow play and lack of attention to resolving it by on course management. There is no excuse for allowing a single on the course at ANY time, and slow foursomes who show no understanding of "Ready Golf" should be subject to training, assistance, or some way of getting them to understand that nine holes should NEVER take 2.5 hours for such a short layout.
A Fun, Fairly Open Course
Played here for the first time and walked the course which is a decent workout with all of the hills. It is a very enjoyable course and was in great shape except for the bunkers which didn't look like they'd been tended in quite some time. The pace of play was generally good, however the combination of holes 5-6 back-to-back led to some major traffic jams because 5 being a par 3 you naturally have some difficulty and then 6 is a driveable par 4 so it plays like another par 3. I would say this was the only downside of the course. Definitely plan on returning because it was interesting with all of the elevation changes, not too hard since the fairways were open but rather fun because you can score here and feel like you're maybe improving as a golfer. Recommend.
Glendoveer East
Course was in excellent condition, including the greens (although they do keep the greens high/slower). Played in 3 hours and included playing thru a slow foursome (kudos to the foursome for allowing us to play thru).
Great Round
Starter said I had to start 10 min early without any warning. Didn't appreciate that. Round was played in 3 hours. That was awesome.
Glendoveer East
Course was in good shape and pretty well manicured. Only possible 'complaint' is that greens were a little slower than most courses I've played in the Portland area. Overall a very playable course.
really
due ti the rainy conditions we had to stop after 7 holes, what made it even tougher was the lack of green maintance. littered with tree debri.
So many hills!
If you walk like myself, be prepared, lots of steep hills to climb. Gorgeous course, in great shape, with super quick greens.
SOGGY & SLOPPY when I played!
Need to reflect the time of year in my review.
The course was so wet it was bordering on not playable. In spots on the fairway so soft that I sank below shoe height.
Had a course Aeration Alert but wasn't true, actually was No Carts allowed.
A very challenging walk with a few extreme inclines.
I did walk it but was exhausting.
Greens were mostly in good condition.
Lost 3 balls in the fairway because they plugged.
To be honest think in the right time of year would be an great course to play so I Recommend in the dryer season but during the Wet season lot of better choices in the area.
